Versa Lite is measuring my heart rate too high

I have had the Versa lite for almost 6 months. I have loved it. There have been a few minor quirks but I was always able to figure them out. This one however has me stumped. 24 hours my versa lite decided to start making my resting heart rate shoot up. It is going up to 115 while my typical resting heart is 58-60. I have charged it, cleaned the back of it reset it turned it off and on and made sure it was tight enough. While I was sleeping it recorded that I had even logged a couple active minutes even though at night my resting heart rate goes around 50. I am so frustrated because I am obsessed with my fitbit. I take my fitness seriously. Please let me know what to do about this. I feel like I have done every possible thing I just need my tracker to be accurate again!

It is not clear if you mean your heart rate is up to 115 while you are at rest, or do you mean your Fitbit-calculated "resting heart rate" is showing as 115?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

It is a malfunction of the heartrate monitor. I will take my heart rate the traditional way and it is within my normal resting range. This is definitely a malfunction with the watch itself not my heart.Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

Mine seems to be doing this same thing.

Update: Wiping the back down with a microfiber cloth seems to help. But my reported heart rate still varies quite a bit. At least it's not going up into the 140s for no good reason any longer.

I am also questioning the accuracy of my versa lite Fitbit device relating to heart rate measurements.  More specifically, I have noticed that there seems to be a large discrepancy between any given ‘real time’ heart rate reading during the day (when I check my heart rate while sitting reading a book, having coffee in the morning, watching tv, etc) and the ‘resting heart rate’ calculated by my versa for that day.  To demonstrate, I have taken a series of screen shots over the course of the last hour while I have been awake and surfing the internet.  Note the difference in my heart rate in any given snapshot vs. my ‘resting heartrate’ metric for today. (And actually, the first screen shot is from yesterday evening but shows the same significant difference).  Because I have noticed this difference between my heart rate as measured by the device in real time vs. the daily ‘resting heart rate’ metric, it makes me question many of the other metrics my device extrapolates from my daily base resting heart rate.  I have also noticed that on days when I’m very active, my ‘resting heart rate’ calculated by my device for that day increases dramatically.  I’m trying to provide these screen shots to illustrate the frustrations it seems many other customers are trying to describe when they say their device is not accurately measuring their heart rate, resting heart rate, etc.   I don’t know if this would be helpful to support, but it would be helpful to me personally if I someone could explain why the devices real time readings don’t seem to correspond to the daily metrics?
