Versa Lite is not water resistant after all

Last April (2020) I purchased a Versa Lite after my Versa of approximately two years died.

All was well until Weds 6/30 when I swam at my pool club. Since approximately 530-545pm, the watch face has either been black, or only partially working, in some variation of restart with the red light on bottom of watch solidly on, or glitching, like you see in the attached photo from this

 

evening. It also repeatedly attempts to sync and has not since 10pm 6/30. I have had a few moments where I thought it had recovered but I notice heart rate isn’t reading and then the screen goes black and it tries syncing or restarting.

I have been in the same pool three times prior to today with the same watch on. Same types of activity  - no deep underwater swimming or diving, only regular gentle lap swimming or lounging in pool. I did not have any problems until today (6/30).

The OS is 72.1.9 and should be up to date.

I can’t give you any more info on my watch because it’s still trying to sync.

I'm more concerned about why is says battery charging as I don't see that it is connected to a charger.

 

Have you tried rebooting the watch?
