Since you mention two devices, make sure the tracker is not currently connected to the wrong device, by turning Bluetooth off on the unwanted to sync device.
IE: if using the phone and the iPad is on, please turn the ipad's Bluetooth off.

It's almost an year I am using fitbit on Android phone after switching from another service provider tracker. Never had such issues with the tracker. It just happened since last week about sync issue.
So I tried connecting through iPad, which couldn't succeed yet. Issue is about tracker connection, which needs to be fixed on Android phone.
