Versa Lite screen went black and won't update its firmware

I purchased the versa lite in August for my birthday and started using it on the 22nd. I began having issues with the watch in November and it wasn't turning on the screen. It would still sync up to my phone and track things. I let the battery die and then it started working again. I then started having the same issues by the end of the month and finally the screen stopped working entirely. I tried the hard reset to factory settings and choosing a background by fitbit themselves. I have been looking heavily at recommendations on this forum but now the problem I am running into is that i will start to update the watch OS system in order to start the setup again. This takes HOURS and it quits halfway through. Searching for more answers. Do not want to give up on this product but very disappointed that this happened in less than four months of owning the watch.

Regarding the update and screen issues that your Versa Lite is experiencing, I was able to get in touch with our Support team and was told that they will reply to your email soon in order to follow up and assist you accordingly. Please keep an eye on your email account.
