Hi @Tess1995, welcome to the community.

Try going into your phones Bluetooth settings and unpair the Versa from there (do not try to re-pair it from here). Then open the Fitbit app on your phone - tap your profile picture (in the top left corner) - tap set up a device and follow the steps to set up your Versa Lite.

Hi there @Tess1995, welcome to the Community Forums.

As my friend @N8teGee said, this usually happens when you performed a factory reset without before unpairing the Fitbit. Usually you should unpair your Versa Lite, forget Bluetooth and perform the factory reset. To solve this issue, try these steps in the following order:

  • Unpair your Versa Lite from your phone's Bluetooth.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Versa Lite again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa Lite.

If you can't get started with your Versa Lite, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Give this a go and let me know the outcome.

Contact Fitbit and explain the problem —-they will tell you to try several things which probably won’t work and if your Fitbit is still under guarantee will replace it for

Same problem.  Brand new out of the box fitbit and it says data not cleared sync again. Big red x as well.  Disappointing.  I may be switching to an apple watch next time.

Yes, very poor product.  While every other vendor improves, Fitbit is going down hill.  Only feature I want is sleep tracker and I can't begin to tell you how many inferior devices I've received.  I probably have a junk drawer that has 10-12 broken devices.  The Flex (3-4 of these), The Charge, The Charge HR, The Charge 2, The Surge, The Versa, The Versa Lite, The Versa 2.   They all break within a year.  The biggest piece of trash that they put out to date is the Versa Lite.  Customer Support is no better than the product.  In the long run an Apple watch or Garmin is a whole lot cheaper and less frustrating, they work.  I've come to realize Fitbit = **ahem**.

I got my Versa Lite 8 months ago and just a few days ago, it started displaying the wrong time, behind by a few minutes. I synced it to my iPhone and it was fine. Next day, same thing but now it won’t sync. I messed with it for almost an hour last night before I decided to factory reset. Now I have the big red X and I’m done with it. Apple Watch here I come. I hate that my parents spent so much on a genuinely nice birthday present, just for it to be busted 8 months later

Thank you!! Someone agrees with me! I wanted an Apple Watch, but my parents did their very best and bought me a Versa Lite for my birthday. I really appreciate it, and planned on putting off my Apple Watch plans for another year or two. Sadly, I’m about to go buy an Apple Watch after only 8 months of this trashy FitBit. I feel bad for ditching it so soon but it’s gotta go

If you contact FITBIT they will replace your watch as it is under a year old

Yes, Fitbit is a piece of crap.  I know because I bought many and NONE of them last.  The quality has gotten worse not better.  Why bother adding features until you fix the underlying flaws with the devices.  I owned the Flex, The Charge, The Charge HR, The Versa, The Versa Lite, The Versa II...  They all break and all Fitbit offers is 25% off on your next purchase, which many of the times you can find it cheaper than 25% off list to list to begin with.  STOP buying Fitbit.  Someone will buy them and fix the issues with the design, support and management.

I have the same problem except mine went out 4 days after my 1 year mark. This is the 2nd fitbit device that's scrapped out on me. It stinks bc I love fitbit, when it's working. Ugh! Now to find another one with the features I'm looking for that I dont need financing to get. Apple is too ridiculously expensive.
