My fit bit versa lite is showing a red X and the message: Data not cleared Sync & try again message. I cant get passed this screen. It wont sync when in the app either shows a red exclamation point. I have deleted the Fitbit app on my phone and unpaired it from bluetooth. I'm on a Samsung s9.

I hope this helps some one to be clear:
1. Hold side button 10 seconds... when fitbit logo appears remove thumb for less than 2 seconds then hold again until long buzz.
2. Factory reset will be engaged. I did this 3 times and still red X with Data not cleared message.
3. Now remove the device in setting on iphone you want to add it to in bluetooth settings if it was previously there.
4. Get a friends phone my wifes was iphone 12 mine was 11. We used the other phone the 11 with another account to set it up and it connected and
prompted with 4 digit code and allowed a firmware update. Then i removed it from my account and re-setup with her phone and it connected
and prompted again. This was one of the most painful processes I have gone through super ridiculous. I strongly advise not setting up a PIN because this recovery process was the absolute worst!
