There are a few long threads about the update, however mine updated fine. Now it just shuts off while I am running and screws up all of my metrics. I have shut it down several times. Any advice?

Hi @walkingcat. Welcome! It's great to have a new member. I'm sorry for the delayed response.
Thanks for letting me know about your watch's behavior, as well for confirming that it has the latest firmware version. This shouldn't be happening and since you've tried shutting off your watch, I'd recommend to manually restart it and monitor its behavior.

Hi LizzyFitbit,
By the time I got this I had already spoken to customer service. It was stuck in updating. They sent me a new Versa Lite and I received it on Friday. 4 days later it is saying I need to update it and I am scared to do this as I don't want it to happen again. Do you know if the update has been fixed yet? Or do I just take my chances? I just got the first one in October and I really hope this isn't a ploy by FitBit or Google to get us all to buy new watches.

@walkingcat I have a Versa Lite and I updated mine via laptop. Go to your dashboard on Fitbit.com. Put your device on its charger, plug it into your laptop or desktop computer. Turn on Bluetooth on your computer and update your Versa Lite that way.

Hi @walkingcat, thanks for replying back. @SunsetRunner, I'm glad to see you around and thanks for your great help! I'm sorry for my delayed response.
@walkingcat, thanks for letting me know that you received a replacement for your Versa Lite. I understand where you're coming from and while it's required to have your watch updated so it can receive the latest improvements, please know that we'll be around to help you with any question that may raise. If you wish to update the firmware, you can give a try to the steps suggested by our friend @SunsetRunner. Just make sure to download the Fitbit Connect app in your computer as the fitbit.com dashboard is able to show your data, but not to update the firmware. You can also update it using a mobile device as described here.
