Versa Lite stopped working after swimming

My Fitbit Versa 2 won’t turn on after 1 minute of swimming! Not happy!

It’s been over an hour and it won’t restart. It immediately went black as soon as I got in the water.

Not cool. I have read the other comments and highly recommend NOT swimming with it.

Hi there, @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out. I understand why you're not feeling happy.

If your watch got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. If your watch has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser (like Cetaphil) and dry it with a lint free-cloth. Be sure to follow our Wear and Care instructions to keep your device clean.

Water resistance may diminish over time and can be negatively impacted by any of the following:

  • Dropping the device.
  • Exposing the device to soaps, shampoos, conditioners, perfume, insect repellent, lotions, or sunscreen.
  • Exposing the device to high-velocity water (for example, during water sports).

If your watch is still not responding after taking the above into consideration, the best way to get help for this problem is to chat with us online or give us a call. Click here to get connected.

Well sadly there was no fixing my Versa 2. And the extra 2 year warranty I paid for expired this past January. I ended up buying a Luxe. A bit annoyed. My Versa 2 only lasted two years 4 months all because I got in the pool with it for literally a minute.

If you look at all the other topics regarding this, my story is similar to a ton of peoples.

It cannot handle water!  Bottom line.

The best advice I can give is don’t take the risk  of getting your Fitbit wet. Fitbit wins! I lose more money!
