Versa Lite stopped working after swimming

I have loved my Versa Lite but was always afraid to get it wet.  I decided to swim a few laps on top of the water and now it won’t come on at all.  Very unhappy about this.

Hello @CLopez68

Can you try restarting your Versa Lite? Press and hold the button* for about 10 seconds until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen, and then release the button. It should vibrate telling you the restart is complete.
🤞 Hopefully that works. Please let me know if this helps

Hi there, @CLopez68. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa Lite. I understand how you must be feeling.

If your watch got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. If your watch has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser (like Cetaphil) and dry it with a lint free-cloth. Be sure to follow our Wear and Care instructions to keep your device clean.

Water resistance may diminish over time and can be negatively impacted by any of the following:

  • Dropping the device.
  • Exposing the device to soaps, shampoos, conditioners, perfume, insect repellent, lotions, or sunscreen.
  • Exposing the device to high-velocity water (for example, during water sports).

Nevertheless, as @SunsetRunner has recommended, please restart your watch by following these steps How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the restart doesn't work, let's move forward with the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again.

Hope that helps.

No I tried that.  It won’t do anything at all.  Very upset because the Versa Lite description said you could swim in it up to 50 meters.  I was swimming on top of the water.  False advertisement!
