Versa Lite stopped working

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

On 4 April I started achat relating to my Versa Lite stopped working.  It was purchased Dec 2019.  As it is now out of warranty it appears nothing more can be done and I now sit with an expensive obsolete watch that is now rendered useless.  I requested if perhaps some sort of compensation at least be offered as it is only 15 months old!  Surely a product such as this is meant to last a lot longer than that and no other solution offered.  I am so disappointed and disallusioned to say the least.  Shame on you Fitbit.

Curious to now how it stopped working. My Versa lite is the same age and now has stopped syncing. If it does manage to sync it takes minutes as opposed to the usual seconds. I have not been able to find a solution.

It first stopped tracking my sleep about a week ago and also the heart rate.  A day later I couldn't swipe down or left.  By Sunday I had a black screen.  The green lights at the back stopped completely.  It's ridiculous to think that nothing more can be done!  Anyone else have the same experience?  I know things do not last forever, but come on....15 months is ridiculous!  So fed up!

Mine literally just stopped today.  If it can't be fixed I'm done with Fitbit. There are much cheaper trackers available and I'm not paying for expensive things that break even when they are handled correctly

I bought my Versa Lite Nov 2019 and it won't hold a charge! I can't track my sleep because I have to charge it every night. And sometimes I have to charge it during the day too! This has been happening for the last month. Started with problems sync-ing. I have reached out to Customer Service, but was told "it is out of warranty so there is nothing they can do" This is ridiculous that Fitbit knows there are all these issues and won't do anything about it. I have always had a basic Fitbit and this was the first "smartwatch" Fitbit I had purchased. I refuse to buy buy another Fitbit product, these products should NOT be considered a throwaway item!

Absolutely agree. Product should be sold with a caveat of only having a one
year lifespan.

It appears this has happened to a lot of our Versa Lites over the span of a few days. Mine was technically only two months old. It was a replacement they sent me after my previous one broke while under warranty. It seems to me that this is a case of planned obsolescence...which, honestly, should be illegal.

My screen went black yesterday. Still updated, tracks my steps and the alarm went off this morning.

Yeah mine actually updated and synced just fine for a couple of days after the screen died too then it stopped working all together.

I bought my Versa Lite in Dec. 2019.  In July 2020, the time began to lag and I could rarely sync with my phone.  After following all supports instructions, I could not do anything with the unit.  Fitbit sent a replacement, which worked fine until last week.  The time is rarely correct, unless I sync with my iPhone, and it often will NOT go through the sync. Occasionally, it will sync and all is well for a little bit.  I hesitate to go through all the ridiculous instructions I know customer support will have me do, knowing that it will be useless after that.  I doubt they will send another new unit as they did last year.  For now, the unit works and if I can get an occasional sync with the phone, I'll do that.  I think it might be time to look into an Apple watch.  Sadly, the Versa Lite is exactly what I  want in a fitness tracker, but if it's going to fail every 8-10 months, it's not worth it.

After 6 years and 5 Fitbits, I'm officially no longer a Fitbit customer. I went out and bought a Garmin watch yesterday.

Good for you.  Which Garmin if you don't mind me asking?  My friend has recommended Huawei GT 2E as she also ditched Fitbit.  Let me know your thoughts.

I bought the Garmin Venu Sq (I wanted a square face). It was pricey and definitely takes a bit getting used to since it has a lot of features and the software isn't as good but so far I like it. I was a little disappointed that the sleep tracker only tracks sleep during your designated sleep hours but that's not a big deal. I like that I can do/see a lot more on the actual watch without going to the app (like track water intake). I also like that it has extra features like respiration. I don't know how accurate they are but they're nice to have. I also think the step tracker is more accurate than the Fitbit step tracker which would track any arm movement as a step. I'm also pretty sure the heart rate monitor is more accurate on the Garmin but I haven't tested that out yet. My Fitbit would think I was doing cardio when I read a suspenseful book 😅

So yeah, so far, I like it but it's only been a day and half so time will tell how the Garmin holds up. All I know is that I'm not giving Fitbit another cent of my coins.

My wife's stopped stopped syncing this week too. It won't track her exercise and even the time is off. I don't understand what happened. It never gets wet and has a screen protector. There are no scratches. All of a sudden it stopped working and now it won't even turn on.

We contacted the technical support and they said to unpaired every Bluetooth device connected. Then try to sync the fitbit. It's taking a long time, but it looks like the new software is downloading so the watch can sync to the phone.

I have actually done this a few different times. Still end up having the same problem.
