Versa Lite stuck in an endless update screen

Hi,

I bought my Versa Lite back in January of this year, and had no problems regarding set up at the time. However a few months ago my watch died after a few days of use like normal. I had put it back onto the charger but when it had turned on it was acting as if it was a brand new watch again. When going into the app to repair the device it still shows the same watch and still syncs with it when in range but the watch itself remains in this state. When I go through the process of pairing it again to see if that’s the problem, it gets to the second stage of updating after finding the watch and sits there for a while. It sometimes reaches 100% but yet doesn’t do anything and others it goes back to displaying the welcome screen in various languages instructing you to download the app to get started.

I am wondering if there is a troubleshoot to this, or what I can do to get my watch in working order.

Thank you

Hi @Onlyamirage, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'd like to follow up and help you with your Versa Lite since it won't complete the update or setup process. By the way, thank you for trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

Please try a factory reset. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
  • Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
  • Hold the button again until they feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates they initiated the factory reset.

After this, try the setup process again as described in this help article and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.
