Versa Lite stuck on message "Data not cleared Sync & Try again"

I am receiving a big red x across my Fitbit screen saying data not cleared. I have unpaired it from my Bluetooth and gone through the whole set up process multiple times, and I have also hard reset it as well. My Fitbit doesn’t seem to be updating either. I need a solution for this. It seems multiple people are running in to this as well.

Hi there @AnnaC92, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for your efforts in troubleshooting your Versa Lite prior to posting here. I'll be glad to continue helping you.

Please note that the error message you're seeing on your watch usually appears when you performed a factory reset without first unpairing the Fitbit. Usually you should unpair your Versa Lite, forget Bluetooth and perform the factory reset. To solve this issue, try these steps in the following order:

  • Unpair your Versa Lite from your phone's Bluetooth.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Versa Lite again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa Lite.

If you can't get started with your Versa Lite, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?
