My fitbit versa lite did not want to charge yesterday. After examining the watch you can clearly see water damage. It is meant to be waterproof, and now the watch is one month out of warranty. Is the only solution now to get a new watch? I cant afford to buy a new watch every year. Is this a common problem?

Hi there @nadianichols, welcome to the Community Forums. I understand where you're coming from. Thanks for sharing a photo to show how your Versa Lite looks.
If your watch got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. If your watch has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser (like Cetaphil) and dry it with a lint free-cloth. Be sure to follow our Wear and Care instructions to keep your device clean.
Even though it may be ok to shower with our water-resistant devices, not doing so reduces the potential for exposure to soaps, shampoos, and conditioners, which can cause long-term damage to your device and may cause skin irritation. We also don’t recommend wearing any of our devices in a hot tub or sauna.
Water resistance may diminish over time and can be negatively impacted by any of the following:

What was the outcome of this case? I am having the exact same issue… watch is out of warranty but my “waterproof” device has water visibly inside.

The same thing happened to me!!! I'm in a panic right now trying to keep it in rice. I would like to get in contact with someone about a replacement. Very sad that fitbit would do this to us. I never wore it in the shower, just in a pool and to the river once. Never very deep in the water either. I'm considering getting a galaxy watch to avoid this issue again.
