Versa Lite won't connect to iPhone

While on vacation, I walked into the ocean with my Versa Lite on - big mistake.  I was under the impression that my fitbit was waterproof and I have in fact swam with it previously (fresh water lake) and wore it in a hot tub for a good amount of time.  However, the dip in the ocean rendered my Versa useless. Within seconds of getting it wet, not even submerged, it died.  My friend's newer fitbit (I don't remember her model) died too.  Are they not meant to be worn in salt water?

After several days of drying out, I was finally able to charge it.  It charges fine, but I haven't been able to sync with the app.  I removed it and tried to add it again, but now it won't even pair via bluetooth.  It also seems to die within hours, doesn't count steps or register the heart rate.

Is my Versa a lost cause or is there something I can do?

HI @Blondie_661 - unfortunately it is unlikely ro recover with the symptoms you describe, the water has most likely done internal damage, after which battery life, if it works, will be minimal, and as it doesn't work it will need replacing.

The Lite is no longer available but a Versa 2 is probably on offer and is the closest to yours with the least problems, so don't go for something more expensive if you were happy with it. Most clock faces and apps should have been made to work on the Versa 2, but not necessarily on later models.

@Guy_ Thank you for your reply.  Not exactly what I wanted to hear, but at least now I have someone else confirming what I thought.  Thanks again!

Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes. Turn on the Bluetooth. Setup your Versa Lite again. If there is no connection, restart your Versa Lite.

@willjoe I tried that multiple times with no luck.  And as of right now, it won't even turn on anymore and when I tried to charge it, it got very hot.  I've never felt it even get warm but this time it was hot to the touch.  Sadly, I think it's completely dead.
