Versa Lite won't pair to my phone anymore

Watch was on the bedside for 6mths (summer beater).

 

Wouldn’t sync to new phone so did a factory reset (common sense step for most electronics).

 

Removed from my profile, fresh install of app, full charged, forgot device on BT, restarted phone, turned BT off and on, close to router etc. Pairs fine, says update required. Process starts, but VERY slow, then fails.

Same here.  I received a newish fitbit versa lite from a friend for Christmas. She used it a few times but went back to her garmin.  I completely removed my aging versa lite with a growing orange border from my phone.  Then tried to install the new watch.  2 full days later after unpairing and starting over I finally got it to download to 100%. However it failed to pair giving me error messages.  I tried two different phones and two kindle fires with the same results.  One phone and one kindle were brand new with tons of room on them.  It appears Fitbit cannot make a stable watch with stable install across the board.  When you reach out to support after talking them everything you have done you still get a canned reply.  You'll get the canned reply several times until you get a live person who then tells you to update your watch and gives you a small discount to upgrade.  Even with the small discount I still cannot afford to upgrade.  Really dissatisfied with Fitbit.  The fitbit versa lite has been discontinued.  There is no real affordable watch.  I am going to look at Garmins.  Even a used Garmin functions the first time.
