Versa Lite won't show me my text messages

My versa lite will notify me that I have a text message but it will.not allow me to see the message.   I can see my Facebook messenger messages and email but it won't show me my text messages and thats what I need to see.  Why won't it?

Hi there @Redysmom, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa Lite isn't showing you the text messages, I understand where your concern is coming from. I'll be glad to help you.

May I know the model of the phone you're syncing with? Please check that your phone is listed here: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker? 

If you haven't done so yet, I'd recommend following the troubleshooting steps provided here: Why are notifications delayed or missing?

If the steps from the help article don't work, please: 

• Uninstall then reinstall the Fitbit app.

• Settings > Apps > Fitbit > Clear data.

• Perform a soft reset of your phone.

New Androids automatically stops the Apps that are running in the background to reduce the battery consumption. That being said, if you want your Fitbit notification to be live and working properly, you need to ensure that Fitbit App is running in the background. For more information about this option on Android phones, see What should I know about using the Fitbit app on my Android phone?

Please note at least you need to open the Fitbit app once after turning on your device to make sure the app is running.
