Versa Lite won't sync and it's losing time

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Versa Lite that i bought back in 11/2019. for the past month my watch will only sync when on the charger and it will not keep time. within an hour the watch is already 3 minutes slow. i have gone through and done ALL of the troubleshooting listed on this webpage and on the community forums. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the app, factory reset the watch, etc. and nothing seems to work. Now the support chat seems to be down. This is getting very frustrating as none of the troubleshooting suggestions seem to be working at all. someone from Fitbit please help!

Hi there @Katiekat0610, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa Lite isn't syncing to your phone and it's losing time. I appreciate you've taken the time to try fixing the syncing difficulties prior to posting here.

Please note that our main purpose is to avoid negative experiences to our customers, we're always willing to help and provide troubleshooting steps.

Keep in mind that your Versa Lite may be showing an incorrect time since it hasn't synced yet or if it hasn't been properly paired to your Fitbit account. Your Fitbit grabs the time of the device you're syncing with.

To see when was the last time sync or if your Versa Lite is paired, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image.

If your watch is unpaired, please set it up again by following the steps at: How do I set up my Fitbit device?. On the other hand, if your watch has not recently synced, follow these troubleshooting steps: Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

If you're on iOS device, please confirm that you've also try the steps below:

  1. Go into your phone's Bluetooth menu > tap on the icon next to their Fitbit device > and Press Forget this device
  2. From there you can re-establish your Bluetooth connection between the device and app by opening your Fitbit app and pulling down on the screen to force a manual sync. From there the system notification for Bluetooth pair authorization should appear, tap pair.

If the issue persists, let me know and I will be glad to create a support case on your behalf. We're sorry for the hard time you had while reaching our Support Team, due to recent events affecting our operations, support options are limited and wait times are longer than usual.

I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.

Hello. I am now having this same issue with my Versa Lite [Activation date 8-24-2019]. It loses almost 1 hour a day and now won't pair or sync. I have tried all your suggestions without success. I think this puppy is toast.

I also am for some reason also started having the same issue. I have tried all the steps, hacks, suggestions and still no joy. I don't understand why I now have to keep my phone permanently synched to keep my watch from loosing time? Why now? I have had the watch since June 2019 and from April 2021 it is no good as a watch really as I can't trust it to not have lost time when I don't have my phone with me?! Surely this is not the experience or usability you are intentionally working towards...if it is please tell us and we can then plan to replace our watches with something that can keep time. It really is frustrating!

Same issue here. My Versa lite is only 5 months old. I brought the lite thinking it would have less issues. Was to replace the original versa. Currently have a replacement on the way but this is ridiculous. 3 versa's and now a versa lite. All the same issue. Starting to wonder if Garmin, Apple or Samsung users go through this much wasted time because of updates. Once the replacement goes in a few months I'm done in Fitbit

Yes, go another way.  I have been fighting them too. Sent a replacement and it last 7 months, now saying sorry it's out of warranty here is a small discount go buy a new one. Like really I am not buying squat from fitbit anymore for them to have nerve to say here is a discount go buy a new one sorry we understand ur frustration.  Like nope you don't.

I got a replacement too, was wondering if it had a one year's warranty, your post clears that! I am also not going to buy fitbit when it comes to that.

I am having the exact same problem. My Versa light is only just over a year old. Only syncs when on power or laid on my phone. Having problems with the exercise functions as well. Loosing time, stopwatch and HR reading all incorrect. Had been working perfectly and been through all the steps on the forum. Please can you help? Thank you
