Versa Lite won't turn on after a Factory Reset

We've had this watch for less than a year, and for most of that time it hasn't been used. I booted it up yesterday and did a factory reset (my boyfriend is letting me have it, so I reset it to clear his data off of it). As soon as I hit the reset button, it turned off and now will not turn back on. I had it on the charger over night, even went today and bought a new charger in case that one was faulty. It doesn't vibrate when put on the charger. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi there @Court_Nic, welcome to the Community Forums. I appreciate the details shared in your post about the Versa Lite's behavior and for taking the time to troubleshoot it prior to posting here. Thanks for letting me know that you've also bought a new charger.

Have you tried restarting your watch as @Rich_Laue suggested?

Since the Versa Lite isn't vibrating when you connected to the charger, it seems that the Factory Reset drained the battery but also looks like it may not be charging properly, therefore, it does not turn on. I recommend that you follow these steps:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your watch using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?

I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.

Hello!

Thank you for the help. I have tried restarting many times, but no matter how long I hold the button down, it never boots up. I tried cleaning it like you suggested, and have noticed no difference. I decided to plug the charger into my laptop just to see if it's even trying to connect to anything via the cord (I did this yesterday when initially booting it up before the reset, and it connected normally). When it's plugged into the laptop, it makes the connect and then disconnect sound over and over again. It doesn't do this unless I put the Fitbit in the charging dock. I've tried even holding it in place on the connection points and opening the dock up just enough to hold down the power button while it's attached to the connection points. It had been charging and turning on just fine yesterday until the reset, so I'm worried I somehow made it unable to charge or boot up. On the Fitbit app, it's still showing as registered under my boyfriend's acct and showing battery empty. Any other advice or suggestions?

Thank you so much.
