Versa Lite won't update to the latest version

I have the fitbit versa lite and have it synced to an android phone. my current version is 38.33.1.30. when I go to check if it needs an update using the fitbit app, it says it is up to date. that seems to be incorrect though, because when I try to install new clock faces, the vast majority of them say they are not available because I need to update my fitbit. I have been searching online for how to fix this for hours and nothing has worked. I saw one post that said to make sure all day sync is on in the app but when I follow the directions listed for how to do that I don't have the all day sync option. I also saw multiple things that said to plug it into the computer which also didn't work. I've tried literally everything I could find and nothing has worked. it's possible that I am just doing something wrong since most of the answers I found were very vague and left me feeling even more confused lol. so I decided I should ask about it here and give a lot of detail about the issue to hopefully find a solution.

Hi there, @junoayanami. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the inconvenience with your Versa Lite before reaching out. I understand where your concern is coming from.

I agree with @SunsetRunner, as it seems like your Versa Lite is pretty new, isn't it? If this describes your issue, please note that the latest update isn't available until up to 48-72 hours after setup. As you have let us know, your  Versa Lite shows version 38.33.1.30 but the latest one is 38.72.1.9. For more information, see What's changed in the latest Fitbit device update?

If you've waited longer than 72 hours, Id recommend performing a factory reset on your Versa Lite to see if this allows you to upgrade your watch to the latest version. Before doing this step, please make sure to sync your Versa Lite to your Fitbit app so all your data is sync and up-to-date. Nevertheless, take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account, your applications, alarms, etc.

With that being said, follow the steps below to complete the factory reset:

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
    1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
    2. Hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates you initiated the factory reset.

You can follow the steps to set up the device after that: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.

Hello @junoayanami

It appears as if your Fitbit Versa Lite is brand new. What day did you activate your account and set it up?? When a watch is new it might take several days for the update to appear. This is quite normal. Is that the case for you that you just set it up?
