Versa : Notifications show off ( hold 'back button' on watch) yet notifications still received?

Hi,

On my versa watch when I hold the 'back' button down I get two icons. 
1. Screen wake
2. Notifications.

 

I have both set to off and a red line is crossed through both icons.

Can anyone explain why I still get notifications on my watch that come from my android phone? What is the point of having the toggle on/off for notifications on the watch ?

Turn them on, restart your watch several times and try turning them off again and see if that gets them working. If not, try a factory reset (settings app and scroll down to About)

I have tried all of these and the notifications just cant be toggled off by the watch. They are always ON. (even though the toggle is set to OFF on the Versa watch) Why have the notification switch on the watch itself if it doesn't work. 

 

Its funny, the screen wake button toggle off/auto works on the watch. Just the notifications doesn't.
