Versa Reading HR When Not On My Wrist

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I love my Versa, but lately I have noticed it is reading a HR when I am not even wearing it.  The other night it logged 8+ hours at around 130 BPM...and it was on the charger!  This is frustrating because it is not tracking my heart rate average correctly.  It also leads me to wonder how accurate the reader is.

@Chartness go to Settings app on your Versa, scroll down to heart rate and toggle OFF and back ON with a reboot of the tracker in-between (press and hold the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo appears).

It is still doing the same thing.  I tried cleaning the sensor, as well.  It has also stopped tracking my HR during workouts.  This morning, for example, it said my HR was 86 during my workout.  I checked my HR manually and it was off by about 65 BPM.

@Chartness at this point, I would try restoring the tracker to factory defaults (performing a factory reset). This will wipe your Versa, so please sync first. You will also need to delete your tracker from your Paired Devices list in your phone Bluetooth settings. You can perform factory reset by going to Settings on your Versa, scrolling down to About and tapping Factory Reset. Once Versa resets to factory defaults, you will need to set it up again by adding it as a replacement device in the Fitbit mobile app. Good luck!

It is refusing to update now so I can't set it up.  I have restarted my phone, restarted the FitBit, tried it on WiFi and Bluetooth.

Okay. I got it to update but it is still reading HR incorrectly.  It is about 40+ BPM above a manual reading.

@Chartness can you please post screenshors of your daily heart rate recordings? Also recordings of HR from the workouts. I would like to see how it looks across the board.

Here is one from today.  The spike I have selected was when my watch was not on my wrist.  The next spike was during my workout, but was not registering the ~158 I was getting to.

@Chartness Is the sensor blinking when not on your wrist? I make sure that the tracker is belly up so the sensor doesn't get confused. It happened to me before that I would get similar reading when sensor was turned towards glossy surface or some fabric. Do the spikes happen while on your wrist and not in the workout mode? E.g. when you're in bed?

The spikes will occasionally happen when I'm not working out, but I do not wear my watch to bed.  Those spikes on the picture occurred when the watch was on the charger.  I have noticed that is when the issue is most likely to occur.

@Chartness ok, this should not be happening when the watch is on the charger. I'm not talking spikes, because spikes are a normal occurrence throughout the day, but it should not measure any HR when on the charger. The standard route is to perform several factory resets. If this does not help, definitely reach out to Customer Support. This is indeed weird.
