Update 1/20/2021: We've updated to 100%
We started releasing Fitbit OS 4.2.1 to Versa, Versa Lite, and Versa 2 customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases aren't distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside.

App update and watch update has rendered my less than a year old Versa 2 unusable. I have tried everything to fix it. All your troubleshooting tips do not work. If you think this will force me to buy a new Fitbit you are wrong. I am changing brands if I have to buy a new watch.

I updated the app yesterday (The bug report in Android said "critical update!"). Lo and behold, my battery life is back to normal. I charged yesterday morning and it is now on 82% 24 hours later. The sync has gone OK this morning too. Everyone jumping ship to Apple, the grass is not always greener. My wife went from Fitbit to Apple about 6 weeks ago. The watch is lovely and all its features work, but it is constantly on charge and the sleep stats are very basic. Furthermore, she went on a walk and thought the watch would report her position to me, but no, I had to have an Apple phone for that to work. My Garmin bike devices (and presumably their watches) do report position via a web page available to anyone you share with. Apple is too closed own for my liking.

My versa 2 synched easily this morning without having to do anything. The fix worked for me. Thanks Fitbit for listening and making corrections!

What fix ??

It says on top If you're having trouble syncing your device, update the Fitbit app to the latest version.

Ok just saw.... I thought it was a firmware update, not an app update. Oh well.... I'll continue to wait for a watch update

No!!! And I'm super bummed !! My HR is off AND I have to charge my watch 3-4 times/week 🤬

Any news on a fix for the heart rate issues? My girlfriend and I both have massively inaccurate heart rate tracking after updating our Versa 2 to the latest firmware. It seems like there are 100's of users out there with the same issue but Fitbit aren't offering any sort of solution! I have a £150 "fitness tracker" that is now useless at tracking my fitness!

Exactly the same here. Tracks 160bpm during a run but if I do anything else it sits at 80-90bpm. Basically it thinks that my HR is the same for a walk as it is when I'm doing intense exercise!

I was having the same issue after the last firmware update. I had done all the usual, restart, factory reset, unpair etc, uninstall/reinstall app. I contacted fitbit via the live chat this week and it now seems to be fixed. They had me do this:
- turn off heart rate on the watch in the settings
- sync with app
- restart (press and hold the button on watch for 8 seconds)
- turn on heart rate on the watch
- sync again
My stats for the workout the day following this seemed to be back to normal. I did a workout I had done before so I could compare. had also switched wrists too as per their request but put versa 2 back on the other wrist again and is still tracking correctly so far.

Further to my previous post: I looked for the minimum specs this morning on the Fitbit website. Android phones 7.0 and above. My phone is Android version 10 on a Samsung yet I'm told this is not supported. The website only lists Huawei and one other Chinese phone as incompatible... I know when a company is giving me the runaround and this is it. Still no contact from customer service regarding my escalated chat.

My versa 2 is now working. Time will tell regarding battery life.
Am I happy it is fixed? Yes very much so.
Am I happy I spent 4 days trying everything I could think of and support asked me to do? No not even a little.
This is not the first time I have gone through this with a fitbit product. I am thinking it is the last though. $200 6 months ago and now this?
I am very displeased.

Same thing here yet again. They rushed the fixed, did not pre test and yet again sent to the fitbit world broken and left the fitbit community frustrated yet AGAIN!!!!!!!

What happened to being able to track water consumption and enter weight via the Versa? I used these features everyday. Now that I've got the update and all the syncing issues resolved, these options have disappeared. I loved my Versa pre update. I am not very happy with this update. The whole thing has been a fiasco.
