Update 9/3/2020: This update should now be available to all customers. If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist.
We've started rolling out Fitbit OS 4.2 Firmware Update (71.6.19) for the Versa series.
We release firmware updates to all customers in phases. The update will be available to everyone soon, and a banner will appear in the app when you can install the update. If you don’t see the banner yet, check the app again later.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Versa device can be found here.
We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article.
If you run into any trouble updating your Versa I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.

There appears to be a bug for a number of people, including myself, with the recording of 0 active zone minutes despite multiple strenuous activity. Are you able to offer a resolution for this please?

Hello everyone!
We appreciate you've taken the time to provide feedback regarding the new AZM which was implemented in the latest Fitbit OS 4.2 (741.6.19). We‘re taking into consideration your comments and sentiments with regards to our products and services.
For more information about how the AZM work, see What are Active Zone Minutes or active minutes on my Fitbit device? and How do I track my heart rate with my Fitbit device?
Hello @Sparkle7, I'm sorry to hear you're feeling disappointed. I appreciate you had followed all the tips and recommendations provided in the Community Forums to solve the syncing difficulties with your Versa Lite. Since this sounds a bit more serious, I've created a support case on your behalf - you should receive an email from Customer Support at the email you used to register with the Community forums. Note that we may take a bit long to get back to you since due to recent events affecting our operations, support options are limited and wait times are longer than usual. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to let me know.

Hi @cr8zy4ever. Let me share that the new firmware update is being rolled out progressively. This means that if you don't have the banner, you'll have it in the Fitbit app later. Just make sure to have the Bluetooth enabled and your phone next to your Versa, that way the firmware can update correctly.
Let me know if you have any other questions present.

Did the update last night before my workout and now my versa 2 has lost the active mins which was completely fine and now says active zones which registers nothing . I know I worked **ahem** hard on my workout it was a tabata but it gave me nothing , even though it shows my heartrate and things as normal for the workout . I want my active mins back . Why’s isn’t this new version working ?

Ok, I think we’re making progress. Today my active minutes seem to be calculating and the line and bar graph match! Yippee! However, active minutes look like they are doubled. I biked for 2 hours and 10 minutes and I have 238+ minutes?

@Barshyamam If you're in cardio or peak zones, active minutes are doubled. Wasn't sure about that feature, but I think it's motivating me to ride harder. I haven't been below 300 zone minutes since the day I got the update.

Hi I wasn’t aware that I had downloaded the new software but suddenly this evening it will no longer show the clock face only the fit bit logo and it won’t sync. I have only had it 4 months they haven’t even taken the final
payment for it yet!

OMG the issues here are endless; I would call fitbit and get a new one. That's what I did; however today I'm seeing a notification for an update, but I really don't think I'll do it.

I let my Versa2 do the firmware update and now it won't register activity (heart rate) zones. I can get my BPM up over 140 and it says I am below my zones (over 112 should have registered as "fat burn"). I just want to roll the firmware update back.
