Versa Smartwatches - Fitbit OS 4.2 Firmware Update (71.6.19)

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Update 9/3/2020: This update should now be available to all customers. If you have any difficulty updating, make sure you are following the directions in this article, and then provide as many specific details as possible in your post so that we can assist.

We've started rolling out Fitbit OS 4.2 Firmware Update (71.6.19) for the Versa series.

We release firmware updates to all customers in phases. The update will be available to everyone soon, and a banner will appear in the app when you can install the update. If you don’t see the banner yet, check the app again later.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED

Release notes can be found here.

HOW DO I UPDATE?

Step by step instructions for updating your Versa device can be found here.

We recommend updating your Versa over a home Wi-Fi network as this can greatly reduce the time it can take to get set up. For more information on connecting your Versa to Wi-Fi, check out this article

After update my heart rate is no longer working on watch and I’m only getting simplified sleep when I PAY for premium.
Turning it off and on didn’t do a thing

I’m going through chemo and I NEED heart rate!!!!

You will probably get a strike against u for saying that , I got a warning saying they took down a comment that was almost the same cause it was inflammatory lol . This post will probably be taken down as well .

Case raised as versa 2, which is a replacement for a faulty Versa, and received less than 2 weeks ago will not perform the upgrade and is now not recording ANYTHING. Very disappointed.

I have been waiting for an update to fix my versa lite since last november.  Did the last one, now my watch is worse.  Now it doesn't remind me to walk and is not tracking my sleep right added to not accepting most clock faces in their app.  They said I had to do the update to get help.  This my third replacement they sent me.

MarkMM,  is that what it’s supposed to do?  Double the minutes?  At least it gives me minutes! 😂. Mine is working fine now except for minutes being counted twice.

I did the update yesterday and I’m not getting any Active Minutes in the FitBit app. And on the watch itself, it’s just a teal circle for Active Minutes with no values under Today. 😫

It amazes me that now they have gone n brought out the versa 3 , Fitbit are like Apple they keep bringing out new watches making the watch before become worthless even though they cost a lot £200 for versa 2 . I’m not gonna be upgrading again this update nonsense has really turned me off Fitbit and I’ve had many models. I feel your pain

@Barshyamam Yes, it's designed that way.

Earn Active Zone Minutes for time spent in the fat burn, cardio, or peak heart-rate zones. To help you maximize your time, you earn 2 Active Zone Minutes for each minute you're in the cardio or peak zones. Heart-rate zones are personalized based on your fitness level and age.
