I have a multi-part question.
What can/can't the Versa Special Edition do when you have enabled the GPS on the watch BUT dont take your iPhone with you on a run?
Since purchasing my Versa Special Edition last week, I have gone on 2 runs without my phone and the watch seem super off with my pace and distance traveled. Not just a little:
Run1
For what I knew to be a 9 mile run (validated via google maps):
-The Versa SE thought I had only run 7.8 miles
Run2
For what I knew to be an 8 mile run (validated via google maps and my friend who was running with me with his Garmin GPS watch):
-The Versa SE thought I had only run 7.2 miles
-The Versa SE said I had run at a 9.1 pace when my friends phone said we were at 8.2 (which felt more correct)
Can someone explain the discrepancy?

Versa only has connected GPS no matter what version you buy. Have to bring the phone along for GPS. Difference between standard and special edition is Fitbit pay. Not GPS.

With no GPS info from your phone the tracker defaults to step counting for measured distance. It will be affected by stride length at that point. "Auto" is probably not accurate for you, you'll need to input your actual stride length.
