Versa Tracker Battery pegged at 83% when fully charged

Just unboxed and fully charged my new Versa tonight.  No matter how long I let it charge, it shows 83% on the tracker.

The sync'd app on my phone indicates 100% fully charged.

Did I get a lemon and should immediately exchange?  I've already wasted 1.5 hours trying to troubleshoot on such a simple thing .... a battery gauge that actually works??!??

Have you tried restarting the watch several times? If not, give it a go. If that doesnt work you could try a factory reset (settings app onnthe Versa, scroll down to About) Let us know how you go

Restart your tracker

Thx Nelly for your reply.

Tried multiple reboots.  No change.

Tried to power down and leave it off for a while and let it charge more.  No change.

Tried a factory reset. It failed and gave the error  "Data not cleared Sync & try again".  Spent considerable time figuring out l how to get past this message on the Versa.

Trying factory reset again now ... 5 hours later and this is still an issue.

I'm about out of patience with this and Fitbit.

Yeah mine will charge to 100% but then as soon as I take it off the charger it goes to 99%. It can never hold a 100% charge.

I don't know why this thread has a message marked as solving this problem.  This problem is not solved. In fact, it has worsened.

Out of box, max charge on tracker:  83%.

After failed factory reset, max charge:  83%.

After successful factory reset 1, max charge:  63%.

After successful factory reset 2, max charge:  43%.

Here's the solution, I got a lemon and it's getting exchanged today.
