Mkay, so I updated my versa the other day, and it got to halfway through the installation, froze, died, rebooted, connected to bluetooth, froze, died, rebooted and now apparently it’s on v4.1.2?

I am so confused, Fitbit. So confused.

This is all BS. Every Fitbitbit support sends the same message on what to do but none of it works. WE WANT A REPLACEMENT! The Fitbit’s do not work anymore!!!

Best Answer
I have had 2 replacements  The faulty firmware bricked them both as well as original versa lite.

For them to offer a 25% discount is useless, you can buy it at that discounted price from any retailer.

Best Answer
And it still won't work because the update us bad.

Even after multiple restarts my versa lite is freezing. I can't access anything except the clock screen. Can you help me with this issue or do I need to call customer service?

FYI- i spoke to someone via online chat.. because I not longer have my warranty their only solution was purchasing a new Fitbit,, they were nice enough to offer a 25% discount though.. this Fitbit brand has never let me down until now.. i would not recommend friends or family to purchase!!!!

My watch battery now drains quickly and just switches off and won’t come back on unless on the charger. I’m guessing it’s this update. How do I get this fixed??

Best Answer

Absolutely agree with this post: I can confirm the battery drain and the button setup is now more complicated when trying to turn it on.

Seeing the moderators answers which are totally polished and avoid addressing the point, along with a lack of bug fixing for these make me think I should see my Fitbit product for once and for all.

This is bad. To potential customers: avoid Fitbit like the plague, the software side is bad.

I have also warned everyone I know not to waste money or time on a fitbit.  Customer service is nonexistent.

My Fitbit Versa was working great.  I updated it with the new Firmware, now I have a black screen.  Bought it in Nov 2019, Fitbit Customer service does not support.  I am screwed.

Hi @SeperatedEntity @mariebaker, welcome to our Fitbit Community. Let me help you with your Fitbit Versa watches since they got frozen and won't turn on. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums. Please try a factory reset as described in below:

  1. On the devices, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the devices vibrate, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. Set up your watches from scratch and run the firmware update again
  6. Finally, monitor your Versa devices and see if the issue gets fixed. Let me know how it goes.

@Toribird79, thank you for joining our Fitbit forums. Since you mentioned that your Versa turns on when on the charger only, please try the troubleshooting steps listed in this help article. After this, charge your watch for 2-3 hours and see if it keeps the battery when you remove it from the charger.

Thanks for the reply. It’s totally dead now even on the charger. I have contacted by email but have noticed that’s warranty is on 365 days. I bought it March 19 so I am out of warranty. Only solution then is to head off to the Apple store I suppose?

I’m having the same draining battery problem. I’ve tried everything mentioned in the help page, I’ve done the factory reset. Also I’ve been monitoring the watch for two days now and the watch is death at around 6 pm, having been full when I got it form the charger at 8:30 am. It was perfectly working before the update. I have it for about a year and never had issues with it before. So now what am I supposed to do?

I think they forced this update on us in order for us to purchase new Fitbit’s.. since the update it doesn’t work as it should,. all they have to do is give us the option to reverse the update!!! Shame on you Fitbit!!!!!!!

Ever since this last update my Versa is not syncing properly.  It is not recording my steps.  I made 4 phone calls for customer support only to have the rudest reps try to help me.  Was given a case number and they were not able to fix.  Offered 25% off a new watch as my warranty expired in February.  What I don’t understand is my watch was working until the update .  Now I am left with a watch that doesn’t work
