Hello,

My Fitbit Versa Lite  broke and I received a replacement today. However the device is running firmware 38.33.1.30 and I am now unable to download the Spotify app onto my watch. I have tried installing an update from my computer to no avail. I can't seem to find an update option anywhere. Is this a case of waiting it out?

Mine is doing the exact same thing. I’ve tried numerous times with support and they just give the same troubleshooting speech. They are like robots, just do as they are told. Not helping us in any way.

Where is the thumbs down button. You all know the troubleshooting doesn’t work so stop telling us to do it and make it right by replacing the trackers. You will be losing more customers.

A replacement will do the same.  The firmware is bad.

My Versa was working fine until I updated, slowly it started acting up and my screen got some lines on left.  Made the mistake of calling customer support, whatever they told I did, now I have a dark blank screen.  It still counts steps, but I cannot see anything on the versa screen.  Customer service said I am out of warranty.  I cannot buy another $200 watch in this economy.  Sad that a company will not stand by their product.  Very disappointed.  I have been using Fitbit since 2015, Versa was my third fitbit product.  Now I gave up on Fitbit.  Very unfortunate.

I have this exact same problem now, had the funny lines on the left, updated the firmware now it’s dead, just a black screen can’t turn on or off

So sorry to hear you are another victim of Fitbit. Not sure they will withstand all of this negativity. They do not stand behind their product when clearly the so called updates are the cause of all of our issues.

Did you call customer service? All of these issues need to be recorded on their end . Hopefully everyone that has responded to my post has done this. I would ask for a case number so you have something for your reference to make sure they are recording your issue .

The bad thing is that if you warn other users not to do the update the moderators will remove your posts.  Just like they did with the December update.  So unfortunately,  more users will do this debacle of an update and have their devices messed up.

Yep called and they said I am out of warranty and need to buy a new one

And the new one will be ruined by the bad update.  They sent me 2 replacements both are bricked by the update.  Not even good paperweights.

Hi Maddy,  I'm having the same problems since the update...did you get any responses on hiw ro fix it?  I've already tried the reset holding down the left and bottom right buttons over and over but it just does it all over again. 😕

@MichelleG78

I haven't done the firmware update and won't be doing it.  I saw the damage that the December update did to a lot of users and this firmware update is mirroring the same issues.

My questions about a corrective patch to correct these issues were ignored  and not responded to so I can see that they would rather have more devices become useless and loose more users to other brands that actually offer support and care about their users than correct the issues.  Very poor business ideology and customer service.

Thanks for your response.  I wish I had known before I did it.  It constantly vibrates,  go to settings, then drains the battery a ton.  Hope they help us out with a fix, I really love my Versa.  Funny that I got it for Mother's Day and now it's not working on Mother's Day.

If someone out there set up a social media presence outside the scope of
fitbits forum i wonder if we wouldnt see more and more people respond with
the lack of care and precision with the fitbit products.
