So i recently bought a new versa, the heart rate sensor would not work through my tattoos on my wrist.i have been using the charge 2 now for about 2 years and never had a problem with the heart rate sensor but the versa will not work.the charge 2 has 2 green lights for the sensor where there versa only has one green light,I think that’s the problem.i’m so disappointed.was excited with my new watch....guess I’ll have to find a different brand that works with tattoos

Sorry to hear of your frustration. You are not the first person I've heard complain about this issue. I think you may be right in associating it with the single Led vs the two on the Charge, that's the only real visible difference.
Hopefully you will find something that works for you.

To everyone having issues with the HR monitor not registering on tattoos.
This is going to sound nuts but my husband and I were able to fix it.
You just need to put an epoxy sticker over the back where the light is and BOOM! It will work flawlessly. No freaking clue why. But it works.
Something like this.
50 Pcs. Clear Round Epoxy Stickers - Various Diameters Between 6mm and 76mm - Self Adhesive (0.25 inch (6.4 mm)) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AIDHF8I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_GWRgBb3QDBHX9

Do these add much thickness to the back of the watch, therefore making it stick up even more?

I just wanted to confirm that the epoxy sticker solution DOES work in regards to the vibration not functioning when touching a tattooed arm. No idea why it works, but it seriously does. I wish I had known this YEARS ago, because I've gone through countless different HR trackers, and ultimately avoided them for a long time because they wouldn't read. Thank you THelland for this recommendation!

don't know how you came up with it, but it defo worked for me well done, just the down side is 200 notes for a watch and you have to put a fix on the back

Hi. I tried your epoxy sticker solution. Yes it now reads my heart rate over my tattoo.
Down side that was not mentioned in this form is with the epoxy sticker it no longer will record my sleep graph correctly... i was so excited for this quick fix. But since its causing a new problem its not a quick fix. So what did you do for the sleep graph to continue working correctly with the epoxy sticker on? I need to know cause im so tired of wasting money for this fitbit...

I actually take mine off nightly to give my wrist a break, so I haven't encountered that issue. I'm not entirely sure why it would create that problem. As far as size goes, I bought a package of 1" round discs at Hobby Lobby for about $4, that I cut in half (a half moon shape). I place the flat end at the bottom of the sensor. The only problem I have is getting it to set properly in the stupid charging station. Otherwise, this has been a huge help in getting the watch to function to it's full potential for me.

I also got my fitbit ti record sleep and HR those were my 2 main reasons for getting it. So just a little frustrating if you have to take the epoxy sticker off the versa every night lol.

Does putting the epoxy sticker affect the sleep tracker? I've read that it causes issues when trying to track sleep with the epoxy sticker on

Does this work for any Fitbit HR? Like the Alta HR or the Versa? Just put the stickers over the green lights and that’s it? It monitors accurate heart rate when running and sleeping? Sorry for the 20 questions lol.
