Versa battery drain and orange edge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I had my Versa for just about a year now, and a month back I started noticing that the battery was draining fast and I had an orange edge around the Versa display. I see that a lot of people have the same problem, and I tried all the steps to try to fix it, but with not success. Shouldn't a watch this price range last longer than a year?

Hi @Lottis68, welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Let me share with you that the battery of our Versa was designed to last 5 days, but this also depends on how frequently you use all the features of your device. That said, I recommend you charging your Fitbit device with a USB port from a computer or a UL-certified outlet into the wall and then turn off all the features that you don’t use that much.

After following the above information, please check this help article for more tips and recommendations. This article includes a restart process that will refresh the device's performance and should fix the orange edge issue as well.

Let me know if further assistance is needed and if you have any additional questions.

I already tried all that, and the battery now only last for 8-12 hours max. Something is seriously wrong with my watch. 🙁

Lithium batteries have a life span of 3-5 years. A Versa is already a few years old if you bought it new this year (2020) so the battery is already degraded by about 50% even though most of its life was spent in a box on a shelf. It is not a matter of how much use it has had, just how long since it was made. The soft ware is not very good at tracking this decline in storage capacity because it assumes the battery is new. What this means is that when the dial says the battery has 25% left it is actually close to zero. If you dont put it on the charger immediately you risk running it so low that it wont charge at all. If you do forget to charge it right away there is a chance it will recover if you leave it on the charger for a couple of days, because the charge rate will be very low. It might be helpful if instead of sending you an email the watch sends an SMS to say that the battery is low because you can read an SMS on the phone so you will get the warning sooner.

Am on my 3rd Fitbit versa now & they keep breaking or malfunctioning. Very disappointed with fitbit. My last one now becomes very hot and runs out of battery within the hour. The back sensors now become very hot and is red. Believe me this is going to be my last Fitbit i get and sure will not recommend Fitbit anymore to anyone
