Versa battery life steep decline

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

In the last week my versa battery has gotten to a point where a full charge won’t even last a full 24 hours! It died at night once, which could have been problematic since it’s my primary alarm, too.

i turned off all special features and made sure the clock face is a Fitbit one and charged it enough before going to bed so it works by die (+/- 65%) because I wanted to see my sleep data. Since that last charge it is not recording my HR or even measuring it (unless I’m magically at 65bpm every time I look at my watch) and it of course didn’t track my sleep.
I now have an overpriced watch that counts my steps... it’s not even 18 months old!

I have also an issue with the battery. Already had contact with customer support by mail, but didn’t receive a solution yet. I’m still hoping that it would be a software problem, because I can’t imagine that the capacity of the battery is getting so worse in one day.

Exactly! I find it hard to believe that almost overnight the battery lasts less than 24 hours when it’s been fine for almost 1.5 years! Turning off features is not an acceptable solution.

The only solution that was offered to me was 25% off of my next Fitbit. I ordered the Versa 2 and got it today and Alexa doesn’t work on it. I will be returning it on Monday. It’s ridiculous

I got my Versa lite for Christmas and it was lasting 4.5-5 days for the battery. Now I can not get it to last a full 24 hours. I gave my partner the exact same model for Christmas and their versa lite still has the 4-5 day battery duration.

I charged to 100% yesterday around 8am and turned off all extras; it’s now 7:15am, the battery is already down to 57% and I didn’t get the detailed sleep stages/score.

This is really disappointing, FitBit!

I just got the 25% off coupon, too. Clearly making a quality product is not their priority, guess I’ll give my money to Garmin now.

Yes, you should. I caved in and got the Versa 2, and when it came in, the Alexa feature didn’t work. When I called, they want me to send just the Fitbit back without the band and they would send me the watch part only. Those bands are not easy to take off, so I said no, I want a whole new watch. Now they want me to send it back before I get my new one. That’s not happening. If I don’t get a new Fitbit in a couple of days I’m calling and talking to somebody who’s really in charge. They aren’t getting my brand new Fitbit until I get one that works properly. They won’t give the money back and will only replace.

My main reason for coming to the community today was to ask about my battery life. My Versa 2 has gone from lasting 2 days to less than 24 hrs. I turned off Alexa, wondering if the only change recently was the culprit but it didn’t make a difference. I’m not willing to turn off the other features. It is also not staying connected to my phone anymore. I do hope it’s a software bug because my watch is only about 1 year old. I won’t be getting another Fitbit if they only give a 25% discount and the issue isn’t fixed.

I have my Fitbit Versa 2 for two weeks now, and from the beginning on the battery did not last the claimed 7 days, but only around 3 days. I do not think that this is normal, so I am going to contact customer support.

For those who are interested, I did a chat with Fitbit support.

For my syncing issue, they got me to update the app on my phone (which I was surprised my phone hadn't updated automatically) and reconnect the Versa 2 to my phone. They also got me to restart my watch my pressing the side button for 10 seconds, until the Fitbit symbol showed up.

For the battery issue, I am to do their battery test and then get back to them.  The directions they gave me are as follows:

"The battery test is simple, you just need to fully charge your Varsa 2 and sync in the full battery state.
Sync 5-6 times a day (with a 30 minutes gap each sync). Once the battery is fully drained, plug it back in so that it turns on and sync in the low battery state."

I will check back in later with how it goes. As an FYI, my Versa 2 was bought at the end of October, 2019, so it's still warranted.
