I went swimming with my Fitbit earlier in the week and it was perfectly fine and now this time it just stopped working all together and I currently have in bowl of rice to see if they makes any difference

They lose the waterproof seal over time. Don't charge it.

Allow it to dry for several days, best on the single button side.

You can check in the back windows for condensation with a magnifying glass.

The longer you leave it to dry the great the chance it might recover.

When you think its dry, charge it and check that it doesn't get hot.

If there are no signs of water damage check for faulty clock face, change to another one, and also try restarting the watch.
