Versa - bluetooth and wifi questions

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just purchased the Versa SE (my very first Fitbit), my questions are:

1. Does the Bluetooth on my Iphone have to stay on to be able to get notifications on my Versa?

2. What's the purpose of connecting it to Wifi, especially if I have to keep Bluetooth on?

3. If I'm running 3-5 miles away from home, where my phone is, will I not get call/text notifications?

4. I've had the versa a total of 1 day, why is the battery draining faster than expected?

1. Yes, bluetooth needs to be on to be on to get notifications. That is how the phone app forwards the notifications to your Versa.

2. The Wi-Fi is for the various apps such as Pandora which will only download the music to the device via Wi-Fi.

3. Since the app sends the notifications via bluetooth once you get out of bluetooth range (30-40 ft?) then you will not get notifications.

More information on the device on the manual here:  https://staticcs.fitbit.com/content/assets/help/manuals/manual_versa_en_US.pdf

4. How fast is the battery running down? Sometimes fast battery drain is because the software has gone somewhat wonky and the way to address that is to restart the unit.  Try restarting by following the steps here:  https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186/?l=en_US&fs=Search&pn=1
