Before I ordered the Versa I did research to make sure that I did not have to have a smart phone in order to use a fitbit. Well, now it turns out that the Versa (and a few others) can only be set up with a mobile device. When I downloaded the set up for a mac computer it asks which fitbit you have and Versa is not included in the list. Down below the options it shows that Versa is for mobile only. Is there a work-around for this that anybody has found or do I have to return the Versa?
Thanks

So a Mac computer is not supported. Yes, I found that out the hard way. I'm asking if there's any work around to deal with this. For example, can I set up the fitbit with someone else's iphone and then use my mac computer to function after that, or can I only use the Versa with a smartphone period. If this is the case, that information should definitely be in the sales details.

Sorry, but I do t have the capabilities for a work around. You'll have to call customer support for that.

So a possible work-around is to borrow someone's iphone to set up your Versa. My daughter did the set-up for me on her phone and now I can sync up to my mac computer. It seems to be working fine.

Awsome, I never had a iPhone for years while using my Charge, but I just synced it directly to my iPad.

UPDATE: this does not work. I didn't realize it but it was only syncing up to my mac computer because it was syncing to the iphone first. When I no longer had access to the iphone, I could not update my computer. And I also realized that not all the info is available on the computer that is available on the phone because, while I was able to see the fitbit dashboard on the computer, the app itself was not really installed. Actual installation requires a step for you to choose your fitbit from a list and Versa is not on the list. So, unfortunately, you must have a mobile device to use Versa.
