Versa calories inaccurate

Just got my Versa on May 30, 2018. Do any of you do Beachbody programs? Here's my question: I used the Circuit training program to track the 22 minute Hard Corps Resistance 2 program (kinda cardio with weights if you will). 27 minutes long, Versa says 191 calories burned. Did Yoga this morning, 37 minutes and it says 172 calories burned. Soaking wet and breathing hard for the circuit, calm and breathing for Yoga. 19 calories difference? Anyone?

I do beachbody too and today I was doing 21 day fix cardio fix and my heart rate was 160 but I only burned like 60 calories, so I don’t know what’s going on there.

Did you figure out if calories are accurate on fitbit readings vs what it should be?

Today after 2hr of work (office setting, sitting down) these are my readings so far. Two apps (Fitbit & Stepz). My phone in my pocket at all times and I wear my watch on my non-dominant hand.

-Readings-

Versa2: 3,637 steps and 2,414calories (there’s no way I burned this many calories).

Iphone XMAX “Stepz” app: 1691 steps and 101 Kcal. 1kcal=1000cal.

When I called Fitbit or did the chat. They told me it was accurate with the
steps but I compatible my Fitbit to my heart app

I'm sorry you all have been having issues. I however, have never been happier with a purchase. I think what most people do not understand, is that your fitbit takes the data you entered and automatically estimates what your body burns naturally. Your body is always burning calories; when you eat, sleep, sitting and watching tv, etc. You are not just burning calories when you workout lol. This is why your fitbit can sit in a drawer overnight and still show calories being burned. I have been using the app to keep myself at a 750 calorie deficit per day, in order to loose 1.5 to 2lbs per week. Some days I can eat 1800 calories, some days i can eat 1200. In a month and a half, i have lost 20 pounds just by using the app. I am more than confident that the Fitbit is very accurate since i have been loosing weight consistently and only making sure i stay under or in budget with my calories. I hope this has helped some of you who are confused as to how you are "burning calories" when not even wearing your device.

I have actually been having a similar issue. I do HIIT workouts a lot and prior to about two weeks ago I was burning anywhere between 300 and 500 calories a workout (generally always over 400) these past two weeks Im barely making 175 calories burned. Something is wrong and I dont know how to fix it. Its been fine until about two weeks ago.

Sorry to hear that. I didn’t keep my Versa. I had problems with it from the get go. It was a good looking watch but it didn’t work as advertised. I have an Apple Watch now. I use a Myzone app on my watch that syncs with a MyZone heart monitor belt that I wear during workouts. Works great for me.
My confidence level in Fitbit’s products diminished to zero after having two Fitbit watches simply stop working after less than six months of wear followed by the disappointing performance of the Versa. Hope you have better luck than I did!

The extra calories being burnt are considered your BMR or basal metabolic rate. BMR is the calories used just to maintain your body functions like breathing, digestion, etc. You do not have to be moving around to burn these calories. It is pretty accurate if you input your information properly. You can look up your BMR with a quick Google search and it should be fairly close to the calories fitbit is predicting since they use the same equation. So, yes, even if your fitbit is in a drawer somewhere, it will still count the BMR calories. In fact, it is a bonus of the device not a defect.

Like many others here, I use mine daily and have for the past two years. The device works very well and is pretty accurate in all settings. Clearly you did not consider your BMR when commenting. Your BMR is roughly 1500 calories per day (as per another commenter) so you would see 2000 calories burnt in a day if you did, in fact, walk 10k steps that day. Simple as that. You've done nothing but convince us all that the Versa is highly accurate when we understand what a BMR is.

For the period of time you were sitting, log that activity as driving and those steps will not count. They are obviously from motions the device perceives as steps even though it could be hand gestures, writing, typing, tapping your leg,, etc

Sometimes, it's as simple as changing the type of workout you are doing. Some exercises use more calories than others. For instance, I was walking but the device recorded it as biking which burns far more calories. Perhaps try different types of exercise until you are near what your former calories burnt for the same workout.

This is normal. Your body burns calories while sleeping so even when not wearing it, it is tracking Bare minimum of u were say sick n not moving all day. U will notice steps don't change. It is based on ur weight height etc totally normal
