Versa can't connect to iMac

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello

The Fitbit Connect app on my iMac (High Sierra 10.13.5) can't find my Versa over bluetooth.

It would also not allow me to set up my Versa on my Mac. I had to use my iPhone.

How can I connect my Fitbit Versa, or is it not compatible with iMac?

Thanks in advance

It's great to welcome you @Mahdiyya.

I would like to know if you keep having issues connecting your watch with your iMac? If you do, could you please be more specific about what you are doing? If the Versa is already paired, you just need to download Fitbit Connect, connect the dongle and it will sync. For more information check the help article Why won't my Fitbit device sync?.

Let me know the outcome. Robot Happy

Hi! I am also having this issue. I would like to transfer music on to my Versa, but when I log into the FitBit Connect App on my Mac, it says it is not compatible with my Versa. Is there a way to change the compatibility or to transfer music from my phone/the mobile app? It is becoming a bit frustrating.

Thank you!

Which version of iMac do you have?  Although I am an Android user, my understanding is there are several iMac models supported by Fitbit.

I have a MacBook Pro.

I have a macbook pro.  You need to turn off the Bluetooth on the device that you are not trying to sync.  That is why you are having the issue.  The Bluetooth on your iPhone is probably interfering with you setting up your macbook.  I have my versa set up on both devices.  I hope this helps.

When I tried to connect to my Imac I received a message that certain Fitbit models do not work with IMAC and Versa is one of them.

Works fine with my Ipad or Iphone.

I too am trying to setup my Versa with the Connect app to my iMac, but Versa does is not capable of being synced to this device. Why is this and is there a work around? I do not have an up-to-date phone to use, but I do have a great computer that I would like to use with the Versa. Does anyone have any suggestions for this?

Sorry, if you read the setup directions you can only set up the ‘Versa’ on a phone or tablet. After doing so you will be able to look at your dashboard using your computer.

I have been messing with my Versa all day yesterday.  It will not connect with my IMac desk top and I can’t set up through my iPad.  Very upsetting.  Any help would be appreciated .on flip side , did research in hindsight and it states Versa is not compatible with some operating systems from iOS

what to do ? Return ?

I returned mine and got something else that is compatible with my computer. Its too bad that Fitbit and/or Apple is limiting the use of some of their devices (IMO this is due to competition with the iWatch). Any of the latest Fitbit watch style devices need a phone or table AND computer in order to use them, and of course the latest OS. Tricky wording on the side of the packages.

If you read the messages above your's about Versa and IMAC you will see that you can't connect to the Imac.  This is mentioned somewhere in the fitbit setup information that I found after a few hours. Versa only sets up on phones and tablets.  You can view your 'dashboard' on your Imac afterwards.

Hope this helps.  If not you can try reading the download information from Fitbit or contacting them.

Hi... I have had the same problem and so I rang customer services who were very helpful. You need to download Fitbit Connect to your Mac. Reason my versa wouldn’t connect to my Mac was because I hadn’t connected it to my WiFi. Your Mac and versa need to be connected to the same WiFi. In the Fitbit app on your iOS device tap on the card icon in the top right hand corner and scroll down to WiFi. Once I did this it automatically connected to my Mac.

Very frustrating indeed! I am using an iPhone to connect to Versa. However, to transfer music, I believe you need to use a computer. I am using a MacBook Pro and was able to accomplish the music transfer with the following steps:

1. Download and install Fitbit Connect software on MacBook

2. Open Fitbit Connect software on MacBook and select "Manage My Music". Software will say connecting to Fitbit or something similar

3. On the Fitbit Versa, go into the music app and select enable transfer

4. On Fitbit Connect, select playlists you want to transfer

Good luck!

I don't get it ? The versa connects via bluetooth to the mac not wi-fi ?

My issue is that my macs bluetooth 'used' to find my versa, but now it does not, SO ... I am unable to 'sync' via the fitbit connect app on my Mac. Very frustrating.

I have tried turning off my bluetooth on my Galaxy S8 so there is no interference, but still not discoverable by my mac's bluetooth..... The bluetooth finds EVERYTHING else.
