Versa can't read my messages

I have changed all my settings to allow messages to be displayed. However, it still gives me notifications but I can not read my messages, please help!

@SunsetRunner to settings on your phone for the messaging app and make sure Preview of the message is enabled. Versa cannot read the notification if the preview is disabled.

@SunsetRunner do the messages get to the Versa and you can not read them by sweeping down, or do they just not get to the versa?

Do you have your Versa set to completely lock, or maybe just for Fitbit pay?

Does your phone display notifications while it's screen is locked?

Versa tells me there is a message but will not display when i sweep down
nothing happens and open only opens my phone, I dont think its locked and
my phone is not locked

can Message+ be used for notifications or only message?  Because after speaking with support they also could not help me, now waiting on their solution

Under your Fitbit app, notification settings, app Notifications, the user may choose up to 99 apps to receive notifications. So yes any app on the phone should be able to send to the versa.

You say it only opens on the phone, is this after tapping open on the Versa? This is what is suppose to happen when tapping open.

To read the message on the versa, the user taps the message header on the Versa. Depending on the phone, the user may have the option to do a quick response.

I have tapped on the message and it wont show me the text I know if I tap it goes to my phone.  .my issue is I can not read the message on the versaSent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

With still not knowing what phone, it may be a simple seeing in the phone or messaging app.

Some can be configured to only show heading or show heading and message body.

You might need to do some searching for the settings

@SunsetRunner Yes, we know what the issue is. You need to enable the Preview. Please see this link for Verizon's help article. Enable the preview for Message+ ON YOUR PHONE.

@CyndiLouWho86 since their are several unrelated issues mentioned above,  could you please give more details on wrist is not happening. 

Better yet ot would be better to start a new thread about your issues,  rather than jumping into an existing dead thread.

I discovered that Message+ only allows me to see that there is a message, but doesn't allow it to be read on the Versa. When I switched to the message app that is native to Samsung, I began seeing the messages and can respond on my Fitbit. I prefer Message+ better, but unfortunately it was the problem.

Fitbit will only defend to three tracker what the third party app sends to it.

I have the same issue. On my Versa, I receive notifications that I've gotten a text message (Message + on Pixel 2xl), but when I click on the open button on the Versa, the screen goes away and my phone messaging app opens. The Email functionality works fine for Gmail, but for some reason the texts do not get displayed on my Versa. Is Message + not compatible?  Would be nice to know which messaging apps work best with this Smartwatch.

As mentioned above @Jaeger915 open opens the message on the phone.. Yes since the message was requested to be opened on the phone, it gets removed from the tracker. 

Next time tap the heading of the message on the tracker. 

As for message +, is this your default text app or chosen through app notifications.

I have done all of these steps. It will show that I have a message so I tap on it, it gives me the option to "Open" or "Clear". I have tapped on, held down, swiped on "Open" and every time it just goes back to the clock face and the message is no longer unread on my phone. HELP!
