I've had my Versa since launch day and it is a great device. I take it off for an hour or so each day just as I get ready for work. I know from using the Versa while I travel that it will last up to four days depending on use, but at home I like to put it on the charger when I take it off each day. Any long term harm to the battery in doing that?

No harm at all. It is actually a good way of prolonging the life of the Lithium ion battery. One of the worst things you can do to them is regularly run them flat. They are much happier and live longer if you dont do deep discharges, so daily charging works fine.
