Versa counting steps while driving

I’ve searched around the forum and the answer for this problem it’s ridiculous. My FitBit Charge 2 didn’t have this problem. It’s very frustrating to see how many people have this issue and the “solutions” are downloading an extra app (DriveBit), logging an extra activity, or all these unnecesary and extra steps. This was supposed to be better and it isn’t 😞 I don’t drive bumpy roads, no stiff transmision, I’m just a mom driving around doing errands but I’m a dietitian too and I like to track my steps, exercise, etc and it’s so annoying that this watch is so innacurate

@anagaby Welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Versa is tracking steps while you are driving. Thank you for all you have tried to get this resolved before contacting the Community.

Even though your device has been tested against driving, buses, trains, and other public transportation and it should not give you extra steps when you’re traveling under normal conditions, it could be that your tracker picks some false steps while driving but a few extra steps shouldn't affect your trends or overall stats.

In addition, please try restarting your tracker as described in this help article. This will refresh your tracker internally. Once you've done this, test your tracker during the next 48 hours and see if the issue gets corrected.

Let me know how it goes and I'll be happy to assist you! Smiley Happy

Hello! This hasn’t been solved. I’m now as a passenger from one city to another (3 hr drive) and the versa has logged 4500+ steps 😖
