I got my original versa on preorder. It added steps while I was sitting still. Thousands of them... I was sent a replacement... that one did it too... I was sent another replacement... guess what... this one is counting steps when it is perfectly still too. I think 3 strikes and you're out. I would like to be refunded for my purchase.

Thank you. I know I need to call support to get the refund. I just wanted to let people know there is NOT a fix for the issue of ghost steps. After 3 watches, all with the same issue, I beleive I have tried all of the fixes, and NOTHING works.

Update. I was on the phone with support today. Sadly, I am past the window for returning for a refund. However, they told me it is a firmware issue and they are working on a fix. I let support know that my original one worked until the first firmware update. Problem is, fitbit has no way to roll back to a previous version of the firmware. So, those of us with ghost step issues are stuck till they figure this out...

having I am the exact same issue and was given watch #2 yesterday as well so I was supposed to go work on my mom's watch tomorrow. That means I am assuming do not update her watch until the new update has been fixed...does this sound correct?

My versa is doing ghost steps as well. Please hurry up with a fix. I got this so I could keep track of these things. If it wasn't going to do it then I would have not purchased it. To much money to now work properly.

This doesn’t seem to have been addressed by Fitbit because I have a brand new Versa 2 and it just logged 83 steps after the clock struck 12am and I’ve done nothing but sit on the couch. I got up and walked around and now the counter is stuck at 90, though I’ve taken more than 7 steps. I already contacted support about an unrelated issue and they had me reset it, which fixed the inaccurate heartbeat and unresponsive touchscreen but this new issue is happening after resetting, so...super frustrated. I don’t understand why these devices can’t just work properly.

I have the same problem with my Versa 2 that I got 3 days ago. It counts steps while working at my desk and while sleeping. I think a fix is needed

I went 79 steps when I was sleeping. I have my old Charge HR and new Versa 2 on my account. I slept in th Charge HR so thought I just tossed a lot. Now I wonder if the Versa 2 added steps while on charge.
When I first got my Charge HR I discovered it added steps when I Crocheted because of the movement of my wrist. So I hung it on a cord around my neck. It still recorded HR and steps wit no problem. Now that I have a Versa 2 I ordered a pretty necklace from Etsy to wear it.
