Versa counting too many floors.

Ever since I got my Versa it seems to be grossly over exaggerating my stair count. I had the Charge 2 before the Versa and it was fairly accurate with my stair count, but now it’s more than doubling the number of floors I climb in a day.

Is this a known issue? Has the way in which the Versa calculates stairs climbed change significantly over the Charge 2? I’ve now gone from averaging 15 floors a day to 34.

I just read that Fitbit is putting out the Charge 3. It sounds like it will have all the benefits of the Verna, but will be the latest technology. Maybe Fitbit should allow us to trade in our Versas for that watch, since there seem to be so many bugs with the Versa. In addition to the stairs issue, there are issues with the swim app. You can’t exit it once you enter it, and if you finally can get out, it doesn’t save your workout. Very frustrating. It seems like they put out the Versa before they worked out the kinks.

Have been waiting for the Charge 3 for ages, but can't buy Fitbit again. Not because the Versa is so poor at flights and steps, but because of how Fitbit are handling it. It's close to a cover up at this point.

Except, if they get it right with Charge 3, I don’t know what could be better.

I dont disagree. Was also disappointed to read that a lot of it runs of
barometric readings...and a comment about sweat effecting results. I run at
least 4 miles every morning and it is damp out AND I sweat. So when I am
done I have run almost no miles but climbed 28 flights of stairs

who here bought the "special" edition? It just popped into my mind that they are different because the special edition has the "NFC" chip. perhaps there is a slight difference in design or something.

I bought the special edition.

I bought the special edition. I notice it mainly counts excessive amounts
of stairs when I drive to work, but not when I ride as a passenger.

I've struggled with three, but none were the Special Edition.

I just got a Versa special edition. I noticed this morning that I had climbed over 40 floors. When I logged my driving time to work, it knocked off all but 2, and also about 2000 steps. I wonder if it's picking up vibration through the steering wheel and thinking I'm walking. That would make sense, then, that as a passenger you wouldn't have the issue.

Same issue. Have received my Versa a few days ago. Tested agains a Samsung and Microsoft Band. overcounts floors and calories like mad. I think I will return. Although I love it otherwise. ;(

I haven’t seen that work for anyone yet. Replacements seem to have same problem.

I wish i had read the reviews before buying the Versa. This is my 3rd fit it in 18month.

My device is registering 37 flights of stairs climbed... at best I climbed 16...

There are 3 disappointing aspects to this:

1. Fitbit are now very aware of this issue but haven't acknowledged it or issued a fix - even tho' this has been reported ever since the Versa was sold.

2. Earlier models of Fitbit trackers actually reported stairs climbed quite accurately - so somewhere along the line they have updated their algorithms and lost the plot.

3. Users of the new Fitbit Charge 3 are also reporting this same issue so it appears that Fitbit still have the heads stuck in the sand and now don't have the capability to resolve this issue.

One has to ask if Fitbit are totally ignoring their customers and don't have the technical capability anymore to solve this?

I just ignore the stairs info. The rest is pretty good. Sorry you’ve had so many problems with yours. Other than the charger, mine has been fine, and they shipped me another right away.

Hmmmm....just decided to return mine this morning. I had it for 6 days but it died twice yesterday out of the blue and this morning when woke up was dead on my wrist. I am so upset as I love the app and the watch and wish I'd keep it. But too many issues in just 6 days. Maybe the charger was at fault with mine as well. Was almost willing to accept the floor counting fault but it also started to have bluetooth issues in the last 2 days. Dissapointed also i am willing to give it another try in a few months. Thank you all. Hope they fix it

Contact them via email. They are anxious to please. Wouldn’t count on the stair issue being solved any time soon. Good luck.
