My Versa, which my kids just bought me for Father's Day, counts steps and stairs while I'm driving and engaged in other motionless activities, even on the New York Thruway, a very smooth, nicely paved road. The suggested solution to log into the fitbit account and enter driving as an activity is unsatisfactory, since I don't want to have to remember to make such adjustments every time I drive. Is there anything else that can be done. Is the Versa defective? I see a lot of people are having this problem. Perhaps the best thing is to return it or exchange it for one of the earlier fitbits that apparently work better. I'd rather just keep it, though, if a solution can be found. Please let me know what can be done.

@BobbyJay you can try switching wrist settings to dominant. In your Fitbit app, click on Versa picture in the right top corner to open settings. Scroll down to wrist placement and choose dominant .This will make your Fitbit less sensitive which should help with motionless activities. I am not sure about the driving issue. Honestly, I thought it was resolved as it first surfaced back when charge 2 was introduced. I do not have this problem myself.

Thank you, M. Good idea. I'll give it a try.

I am having the same problem while driving and I drive for a living. I wouldn't have noticed the problem if I hadn't been driving when I was alerted that I had reached my goal of 10,000 steps by 11am. I started watching it then and within an hour of driving I had accumulated over 1000 steps. This is unacceptable. I will change the setting to my dominant hand to help cut down on the false activity but if a better or permanent fix doesn't come out I will return mine and go back to my flex. I am super disappointed in the Versa right now.
