This happened yesterday to me, as well. But when I did a hard reboot, it worked. Then I woke up this morning and it won't update or connect to my wifi. I have had this Versa since Christmas and have had no problems since. Thanks for letting me piggyback on your post;)

This happened to me and I updated my app and my versa watch too. Now the battery is draining very quickly when before it held very well and I was charging it once a week. I'd be very hesitant to tell you to update it all because it seems to be a battery bug in the software once you do update. The update did get my steps to start counting again though.
