Versa displays "Data not cleared, Sync & Try Again"

Hallo.

Today, when i started looking to some new displays for my Fitbit Versa the fitbit app said that there's an update I needed to install in order to install new displays or even be able to download some new apps to my watch. I managed to update the fitbit app but I could not update my fitbit Versa because there was no such option as 'update' or 'there is an update available' as usual.

So I thought I should factory reset my watch. After doing so, the watch now says 'Data not cleared, Sync & try again.'. I tried to sync through my phone but it just didn't work. I have done so many things such as unpairing the watch with bluetooth, forse restart, I even deleted the watch from my app and now I can't pair it again. My phone does not find my watch and my watch only shows the fitbit logo after pressing the left and bottom button and then it says 'data not cleared, Sync and try again'.

Someone please help! Nothing seems to work!

Hi @cimbom1, due to the recent events, I apologize for the delayed response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

I would like to follow up with your Fitbit Versa since it displays a "Data not cleared" message and would like to know if the issue persists or if it got resolved. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

In the meantime, let me know if the factory reset was performed as described below:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. After this, set up your watch from scratch.

Looking forward to your response.

Um... Where are those buttons? My Versa only has one button on the side...

I have the same problem with my Versa.  Twice I have tried the three-button factory reset, and every time it still gives me the initial log, but then the "Data not cleared, Sync & Try Again error message.'
