Versa does not respect the "do not disturb" setting

My phone's "do not disturb" setting is working fine but my Versa is still vibrating and getting notifications when it's set. This is waking me up in the middle of the night 😞 Also, I know this shouldn't be the case - if phone is in "do not disturb" my past Fitbits have respected this and the forums here at Fitbit say it should too. How do I fix this on the Versa?

Curious as to what phone you have. I wish it would do this as I like to keep my phone on silent and have my watch notify me. Per Fitbit at least on Android its not supposed to send notifications when DND is on.

On the watch settings under notifications there is a setting for stopping notifications during sleep. Have you tried that?

@DoctorKatz Go to the settings on your watch you can make it so it does not notify you when you are asleep. image.jpg

I checked that already. Notifications during sleep was/is set to "off" and it is still giving me notifications at night after I'm asleep and my phone's in "do not disturb" mode.

I have a Pixel 2. And yes, I checked the notification settings on my watch, which was set to "off" during sleep. I poked around on everything from my phone's settings, the watch settings, the Fitbit app settings... I can't find anything that would allow it to do that. And it's not supposed to when DND is set on the phone.

I'm puzzled because I have the opposite experience and the opposite wish with my Pixel 1. My watch does not send me notification when my smartphone is set on DND while I would like it to do it (except when I sleep).

@taijitu I got it on Amazon! I am so in love with the band. However, it was a pain in the butt to put the band on!

I’ve had mine set at off during sleep, but then doesn’t seem to be working when I’m awake, have you noticed if it automatically starts again during the day or do you switch this to on and off again at night?

Try going to the Fitbit App, then select your watch, then under Notifications there should be the option toward the bottom that says "always vibrate". Click on it to turn off and it should remove the vibration even when your phone is on DND. Hope that helps!

When it comes to the phones DND mode, we are looking at Fitbit app settings on the phone. Their is a slight difference between the different phone operating systems. including this would be important part of the duscussion.

On android if the phone is in DND any app that honors this would not send their notification and then there would be nothing for Fitbit to forward.

I have read a lot of posts complaining about notifications are not sent when the phone is in its DND mode.

With this thread stating the opposite I don't know who to believe, but when my phone is in DND the app does not send notifications.

Just wondering if u found a solution? I want mine to only vibrate if I get a call, that was a feature on my Alta

@Jeckaf  Do you have an Android phone?  Make sure that within the Notifications section of the Fitbit App that you toggle "Always Vibrate" to ON.  Scroll down below the settings for Quick Replies.  This will allow your Versa to vibrate even when the phone is in DND mode or the ringer is turned all the way down.

@Jeckaf have you, through the Fitbit app, turn off all notifications but phone calls?

This way you will only get phone calls.

I have the same problem. I am using the Versa paired with an iPhone. On the Versa, I have set the following configuration under Settings:Notifiations:During Sleep Receive calls and notifications: OFF. I would expect that whatever my settings on the iPhone or the FitBit app, that this Versa setting would override everything else. i.e. Even if my phone is receiving text messages, if Versa thinks I am asleep, it should not vibrate when the phone receives a text message.

These settings are for the Versa not the fitbit app .

The setting should be blocking notification at the Versa independent of the device that sends the notifications.

I agree with you. However, even though I have set the Versa Settings to
not notify me of calls or text messages while I'm asleep, it does so
anyway, waking me up.

I've got the same issue, it's driving me insane. The watch just randomly vibrates on  it own, no notifications, no 10k steps/day achievement, jist vibrates. I removed all the permissions in terms of notifications, set all the settings in both the app and watche'a settings to off, all to no avail. Lately, the watch has also started vibrating much louder (and yes, it is set to normal, not strong vibrations). I'm pretty sure it used to have a "dim" version of vibration before the latest update. It's all so annoying, I'm actually considering binning the watch.
