@JessicaBerg1990 If you move a lot and have set the sensitivity to Sensitive each movement might be interpreted as awake (and not simply brief time awake but up). Versa determines period of time as being asleep after 1 hour of inactivity, and it needs at least 3 hours of recorded sleep to determine sleep stages. Try changing your Sleep Sensitivity to Normal. Also, reboot tracker just in case. You can do that by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until fitbit logo flashes.

Hey @JessicaBerg1990, it is great to see new members around the forums! If your Versa is not tracking your sleep stages, and only your simplified sleep data, I'd like you to verify the following factors:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your tracker from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your tracker higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your tracker to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your tracker’s battery is critically low.

Thanks for the tips @Marrrmaduke!

Let me know how it goes!

@JessicaBerg1990 Can you please post screenshots of HR recorded for these nights (from Fitbit mobile app)? Also, do you have any bedtime targets set in the Fitbit mobile app? If yes, please clear them.

@JessicaBerg1990 I just wanted to verify that HR is being recorded at night. Let's hope that clearing bedtimes (don't forget to sync after doing that) resolves the issue. Btw, I need to ask, why do you have such gaps in HR recordings between 9 and 3 PM? Do you remove your tracker?

@JessicaBerg1990 What really baffles me is that it shows you have 0 awake minutes... I mean c'mon... Not even one? Try the other hand, but something is not right. If you have tried several reboots already, I would try restoring Versa to factory defaults and see how it goes. Factory reset will wipe all the data from the tracker, so sync it first. Before factory reset, make sure you have deleted versa from your Fitbit mobile app and from your phone's Bluetooth settings. To perform factory reset, open settings app on you Versa and scroll down to About. Tap it and choose factory reset. After factory reset you will need to set up your versa again by adding a new device in your Fitbit mobile app.

I work at a center for older people. So because of the hygienic rules, we can't use watches, jewelry, etc

You won’t believe this but I was in love with my versa and it was doing everything right for three weeks. It then just stopped recording rem. When I called they would re-boot,  they would sink it and have me adjust it on my wrist.

Finally they told me that if they sent me a new one they couldn’t guarantee it would work because there was a bug in the system. They wouldn’t tell me how long they expected the sponsor list or when they could address it and I felt they were entirely unprofessional.

I was out of the warranty. And I got a refund authorization from Amazon. They refunded it right away and I purchased and Apple Watch. Refurbished same price and you can download, “pillow “  which does the same but also records you if you’re snoring.

After spending a big part of the day with Amazon going over everything Apple, my Fitbit Versa started working.  I called to ask them how it could start working again.  They said, “the worm is through with you.”   This is all I can tell you. Bye-bye worm!

I have canceled the Apple Watch because the versa was really what I wanted and all I needed and I love the way it looked and I purchased a handmade leather band for it.  Good Luck!

Yup, BUT, That was THEN.  It started happening again the next night, no sleep stages. I did everything, checked to make sure that I hadn’t put it on automatic where are you indicate that you’re going to sleep now, it was in the right place on my wrist I moved it and changed the fit and moved it back again.  It turns out that legally they do not have to standby the feature and they have had  bug for 3 years.

Imagine if you had a business and you were selling something that had a bug in it and you did not pay for a sophisticated enough IT man to solve this within three years . I am highly offended by them continuing to advertise the watch as having this feature and it does not have the feature.

Amazon has instructed me, even after four months to email them and then email Amazon their response and they will get me an Apple Watch instead. All you have to do with Apple Watch is download, “Pillow” App.   It is free and they stand behind it .
