I got a new Galaxy S9+ a few weeks ago and was thrilled with the battery life. By the end of the day I'd still have around 20% battery left. I just started using my new Versa 4 days ago, and every day since my phone's battery has been down to single digits by early afternoon. I disabled All-Day Sync, but that hasn't helped. Any thoughts? TIA!

I have an iPhone and have noticed my battery is dying much faster now that I’m using my Versa. I don’t get it. I upgraded from the Blaze so my iOS was used to running a Fitbit product. I too have the all day sync turned off as well as the gps enabled exercises. I’m not sure why it’s draining the battery so bad.

Is your S9+ fully compatible with the versa ? I have a S9+ as well, and was wondering if I would get full capabilities before buying the fitbit Versa, since the device isnt on the official list from fitbit.com.

I'm seeing the same thing on a Pixel 2 - big decrease in battery life since getting the Versa. I've disabled the Keep Alive Widget but not All Day Sync or Always Connected. I also made Fitbit a battery optimized app, it's not by default. Hope it improves and that they get more mainstream phones on the compatibility list. Music controls still don't work for me.

Update to last post: Managed to resolve this issue by going to phone settings - apps and notifications - Fitbit - app notifications and turn on sync service.
My phone is no longer cooking and I can keep my sync and use keep-alive widget 🙂

What can I do within the settings (of either Versace or iPhone) to minimize the battery drain on my iPhone?

In the phone, you can kill any apps you are not currently using and clear the cache. For the Versa, if you have it on "Always Connected" or "All Day Sync" you can turn those features off and save battery on both devices.

I recently upgraded to the Versa and so far I love it. My one complaint is with the FitBit app on my phone.
My phone started getting really hot and I started getting warnings about it overheating. Then other apps would start to drag. Through trial and error (uninstalling a bunch, installing one at a time) I figured out it was the FitBit app causing the problem. So I uninstalled it from my phone and put it on my tablet. That works OK, but I miss getting notifications and having it link to the GPS to track distance.
Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions on settings to stop this from being a problem?

That sounds really weird. What phone is it?
I'd suggest you try installing the app again and see how it goes this time. I have never heard of this happening before with the Fitbit app.

Samsung S7. I thought it was weird as well. I had the app on my phone for months, but once I switched to the Versa it just seemed like it was always running. My battery drained from 100% to 12% overnight and the only thing that was running was the FitBit app.
I'll try reinstalling at some point but wondered what settings might contribute to the issues.

Thanks for the update @B-lou-B! Hi everyone! 🙂 I appreciate that you have shared your experience with Versa and for all the time and effort you have invested to solve this. This sounds odd.
To make sure that your app is working correctly, log out and reboot your phone. Once your phone is up log back. Also, you can try disabling All Day Sync feature. To do so, you need to go to account, then tap the picture of your Fitbit and scroll down and disable this option.
If this doesn't work, please let me know the following:
Keep me posted! 🙂

I have a Galaxy S7. Ever since I got the Versa my phone battery is draining like crazy, when I look at what apps is causing the battery to drain it's FitBit. My phone has only been on for 4 hours and I'm already at 55%
I have all day sync turned off (I'd like to have it on, but seems it's making things worse), always connected is off and keep-alive widget is off...what else can I do?

If you hold the battery saver icon at the top of your Galaxy, there is an option to put non-active apps to sleep.

@swim4lifekac I keep having to put it to sleep though? I put the app to sleep, and then it continues to use up my battery and I have to do it again?

For me, I set it as always sleeping, then when I want to sync, I manually sync it and then close the app. The App does not use more battery because it's sleeping.

@swim4lifekac I guess I'm thinking it's not working on my phone for some reason?
I'm manually synching the app since I have all-day sync turned off. Then after I sync, I close all open apps on my phone, and also go to battery details and put the app to sleep.
It is still somehow running in the background, and taking up my battery life...I'm not sure what else I can do?

I'm not sure either. I just upgraded from a Galaxy S6. My battery would not last more than 6 hours without a charge. I thought it was because it was an old phone. I have yet to charge my S9 plus during the day. A late night charge lasts all day and thru the next night. Good Luck.

Is your Bluetooth and location on? It could be that draining your battery instead of the apps. I have a s7 edge and my apps are put to sleep too but when I put my Bluetooth on with it without the location it drains my phone quicker.
