I got a new Galaxy S9+ a few weeks ago and was thrilled with the battery life. By the end of the day I'd still have around 20% battery left. I just started using my new Versa 4 days ago, and every day since my phone's battery has been down to single digits by early afternoon. I disabled All-Day Sync, but that hasn't helped. Any thoughts? TIA!

I was experiencing this same issue ever since I got my Versa (Samsung Galaxy S8+, Android 8.0.0 - updated May 24, 2018, Fitbit App Ver 2.72.1). I'm not a heavy cellphone user during the work week and usually make it home with 60%+ of battery life left on my phone. The last two days have been extremely busy at work, with little to no usage of my cellphone and yesterday I only had 12% of battery life left by 6 pm. After reading through this thread, I realized that ever since the last Android update, I noticed a new notification in my notification tray stating that Accuweather was attempting to link to a bluetooth device unsuccessfully.
So based on this thread and this new notification, I took the following steps:
Today I had the same level of cellphone usage and when I left work I had 73% of battery life left. YAY! I also double checked the weather app on my Versa and found that it was functioning/updating as normal, even without the Accuweather app on my phone. So based on my experience, it seems to be the bluetooth connection between the Accuweather app and the Versa that drains the phone battery.

Dunno if this will help...
I also have the rapid phone bty drain issue with my Versa and S6. So does my wife with iPhone 6 bty drain and versa.
We both had wallet loaded with a credit card, so phone lock was on. After having issues with the wallet stopping working and lock code not being recognised by the phone app, the bty drain issue went away. Latest update has restored wallet, lock code, and the phone bty drains again...

Hi, my phone is also draining its battery and getting hot when I use the connected GPS exercise apps. I've had a Versa for around a week.
It is a Samsung Galaxy J5, I first noticed a few days ago when I cycled to the shops. I tried to record the ride on my fitbit using the exercise app but it didn't seem to connect to my phone. I also tracked the ride on Strava. When I came out of the shops, I went to put Strava back on, but my phone was completely dead (from 30% battery) and felt really hot.
I used the exercise app again this morning to track a walk on my Versa, after stopping it on the watch, the notification on my phone was still saying connected GPS was running, but it was flashing on and off as was the fitbit symbol at the top of the screen and the phone had got really hot. I had to 'force stop' the fitbit app to stop this happening.
Any recommendations welcome!

I have an S7 and it wasn't affecting my battery much until the oreo update happened and now for my phone to connect to the versa I am forced to turn on the sync service full time and it is causing my phone battery to drain very quickly.

I'm having the same issue. What can I turn off settings wise to save battery and still get notifications on the watch?

I have a Goggle Pixel. Battery drain started the day I linked my Fitbit Versa I bought the Versa because I need the sleep tracking due to health issues. I really want to keep the watch but cannot see having to turn off reminders to move, all day sync, always connected and a watch face without the weather. I wanted the Versa to give me the notifications and basic info so that I didn't have to always pull out my phone. Do you know if this problem is going to be corrected soon or should I return the Versa?

Thanks for the replies. I rang Fitbit who just said take it up with Argos, who gave me a refund. Shame, as it was a present, I probably won't try another Fitbit.

My versa is also running away with my battery but more so this last week. I'm charging my phone 3 times a day! Charged before going to bed last night and it's lost 50% overnight! Checked the app settings and it says it's used 45% since last charge. I'm going to go back to my Garmin at this rate. I went back to a fitbit so I can compete challenges with friends but I'm fed up constantly having to charge phone

Battery was being drained quickly and I saw Fitbit app had utilized 41% battery. My phone was also getting really hot. Turning off all day sync and always connected did not help.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the app has seemed to fix the problem. No battery drainage or hot phone since doing this, and I have the all day sync and connection on.
*update: still draining battery 😞

I also have a Galaxy S7. The Versa drained my phone by mid day. I've tried everything. I finally had to turn off text and email notifications to stop it from draining the battery. It's one of the reasons I updated to the Versa.

I have been using one of the regular ones with a pictures nothing fancy. This just started this week, I have always had on all the functions that everyone says drains the battery but I just noticed this started this week and I have been using my Versa the exact same way for 2mos now. I don't want to have to change how I use it, but I find it odd that it never did this until recently. (fyi I have the Note 😎 so maybe there was a recent update w/ in my phone that caused this.

it's the app that is really badly optimised. changing the sync settings and so on won't help you at all. the problem is that once the app is opened it's running on full load on the CPU even in the background. fully closing down the app every time you've opened it might help. noticed the problem today when my note8 was at 24% battery 4h after unplugging it and fitbit had drained the majority of that.
will just have to wait for the tech team to fix the app. sort of regret changing my samsung gear for a fitbit, they at least had their software running properly.

I have the S7 and am using Andriod version 8.0.0. My phone has been draining fast since I first started using my Versa a few weeks ago. As time has gone by my phone runs hot and runs out of battery in just a few hours. Even turning off the syncing and what not doesn't help. My phone is telling me that it is overloading my phone. It is to the point that I no longer want to use the watch.
