I got a new Galaxy S9+ a few weeks ago and was thrilled with the battery life. By the end of the day I'd still have around 20% battery left. I just started using my new Versa 4 days ago, and every day since my phone's battery has been down to single digits by early afternoon. I disabled All-Day Sync, but that hasn't helped. Any thoughts? TIA!

How do I downgrade the app?
Instead of downgrading via APKmirror, try updating it to the latest version on the Play Store. They released an update yesterday that says in the notes that it fixes the battery/data usage but are still investigating and will release a newer update in the near future. See if the latest version on the Play Store still gives you battery/data issues!
UPDATE:
Oh yikes...well FWIW I had to factory reset my phone for other reasons and data usage seems to be okay (barely any usage in background), just the battery a bit wonky before I updated to the latest version today, so I will continue to monitor and see...

How do you 'downgrade' your FitBit app? I agree... if we just hold on a bit, FitBit will fix the issue, but until then, I'd love to save my phone battery!

I dont know what phone you have. With Android, you can download the APK. You can check the previous post. I shared a link

I keep getting a message that the file can harm my device. Did you get that? I tried to upload a screenshot, but it won't let me.

Yes you will get that. It's an APK file so you basically downloading the app outside of the APP Store. You have to allow your phone to install 3rd party apps.

I bought my Versa last Thursday and absolutely love it!!! However . . . It has wreaked havoc on my phone. I have a Samsung s8, OS is 8.0.0. My phone has been moderately to extreamly hot to touch. I have received messages on my phone saying it was too hot to charge and multiple from device matience saying that the fitbit app were overloading my phone. My phone was at 97% @ 10a today and it is now 1:07 and is at 44%. Currently I have all day sync off and it helps but my battery is still draining very fast. I really love my fitbit but drive for a living and need to use travelbit otherwise my stats are ridiculously off but need the app on my otherwise all the extra steps dont seem to come off unless I go into activities in my dashboard. I dont want to return my versa but have been contemplating it as I'm having trouble keeping it charged and cooled. PLEASE HELP!!!

If your phone is getting hot and battery seems to be draining. You might be using the latest Fitbit App. They said they have resolve the issue with the latest update, but from what I heard the issue has not be resolved.
If you have an ANDROID phone, you can downgrade the app to 2.72 version (See below) which I've been using for last 2 days and have NOT experience any battery draining issue, phone overheating or overload cpu. This is the temporary solution I suggest everyone to do if you are having the issue. Until FITBIT Developers resolve with permanent solution, I recommend use the older version of the app. (There is not much difference from what I can tell)
Went to Fitbit APK mirror site and installed 2.72 from there:
Then I went to my google store and unchecked "automatically update" for Fitbit (so I stay on 2.72 until they come out with a new and verified version that works).
I don't think it's the watch itself (some people think it's their brand new Versas, but mine and my hubby's Ionic does the same, my son didn't update his Ionic and his is still working fine but he syncs to his tablet), I believe there is something funky on the operation of the latest Fitbit app update (the 2.73 and the beta 2.74, which apparently still has the bugs as per beta testers reports).
Hope this helps, good luck!

I had no problems until about a week ago and I've had my Versa for about 2 months. I have an Samsung S7. Under my software it says "G930VVRU4CRE5" was installed on June 15, 2018 (somewhere else it says Android 8.0 and yet somewhere else says "Kernel Version"). The issue didn't start until much more recently than that though, maybe over this last weekend or late last week?
I've already disabled All Day Sync and Always Connected, but honestly, that was kinda the point of getting the Versa for me. Today is a perfect example. I had 100% battery at 8:10am and it's 1:12pm and I'm at 23%. I sit at a desk and don't use my phone, so that's strictly app usage. I used to leave my office at 5pm with at least 70% battery.

Good news everyone. A new update for Fitbit just updated via Play store (for Android phones) that claims to have fixed the days and battery issue.
V2.74.2
"This applies a fix to battery and data issues"
Will monitor to see how my battery is.

Any updates on whether it has fixed the issue. I have removed fitbit from my Galaxy S8 until it's sorted as the battery was draining incredibly fast. I no longer get my notifications on te Versa now which I want.

I updated to v2.74.2 last night (approx 12 hours ago), and my battery usage has gone back to normal. Fitbit only taking up 2% of my battery overall (compared to 40+% previously).

I too just go the Versa, and my phone dies at work (while listening to music) even though I have it plugged in to my CPU. I didn't have this problem with the Blaze. Also, how can I logged spin cycling only see bike ride.

I have a Motorola Moto for almost 2 years. I have had 2 Fitbits (Alta and Blaze). Last week I got the Versa, and immediately had issues with my phone battery draining in less than a day. Previously, it would last 2 days. My phone regularly notifies me that Fitbit is using over 35% of my battery.
I have seen the suggestions to turn off all the sync operations. Why do we need to do that? I would like to use the functionalities of the device. My suggestion would be for Fitbit to determine why this is happening and fix it. It sounds like it doesn't matter what phone you have, the issue is Versa.
I would like to have the sync functions on for the Versa, like I have had with my other Fitbits. Can't Fitbit fix this?

I forgot to add, the clock face I am using is the default, so that is not the issue.
