Versa gen 1 music controls question

Hello Everyone.

I just wanted to know, how do I access music controls during an exercise or after an exercise?  I have music on my Versa and my Bluetooth headphones synced and it all works.  I start playing music, then start my exercise (running).  During this exercise, how can I access music controls to pause or whatnot?  Right now I use the buttons on my headphones.

Furthermore, once I end the exercise and go back to the main menu (the music is still playing), how can I pause that specific sound?  Again, right now I use my headphones.  If I go to the Music option on the Versa it just shows my songs and playlist, I then tap that, then tap any song (to stop the currently playing song and play the new one) and the music controls appear for that song and I just stop from there.

Am I missing something here?

I’ve got the music controls set as the shortcut on watch’s left button. So while I’m exercising, I just long press the button and the music controls pop up, do whatever I have to do and then press the button again to return to my exercise screen.
